Catholic students condemned for confronting, mocking Indigenous People's Marcher in D.C.

Online videos showing students from Covington Catholic High School confronting and mocking members of the Indigenous People's March in Washington, D.C., on Friday have brought widespread condemnation against them and their school.

Apologizing on behalf of CovCath and the Diocese of Covington, a spokesperson said Saturday that students involved could be expelled.

The videos show one person among a group of CovCath students face to face and smirking at an Indigenous People's Marcher singing and playing a hand drum near the Lincoln Memorial. The marcher was identifed as Nathan Phillips, an Omaha Nation elder and Vietnam veteran. Others surrounding the small group of marchers are shown laughing and taking pictures or videos with their phones.

Some in the group are wearing "Make America Great Again" caps and clothing that connect them to the Tri-State. A few can be seen wearing Covington Catholic spirit wear and some others can be seen wearing Cincinnati Bengals clothing.

The Women's March lost a lot of supporters last year, from Alyssa Milano to the Democratic National Committee, over charges that the organizers had an anti-Semitism problem — one they haven't done much to counter, what with Tamika Mallory still refusing to acknowledge Israel's right to exist.

The organizers insisted the first Women's March wasn't an anti-Trump march, which is exactly what it was: Hillary lost, and lots of women were angry and needed to vent, and the Women's March was there for them. What was said from the stage didn't really seem to matter, which was good, because there was a lot of radical progressive rhetoric that the media just glossed over.

So if you're holding a march to affirm women's rights, why take that captive audience and preach the BDS movement, especially when you're rightfully being dogged by charges of anti-Semitism?

I must admit I commented on the fact the students seem to interfere with the rally. I just believe everyone should have right to express their views. My point was really how the left and right have such different moral values.

I swear, it was like a riot, looting stores, only to discover they mistakenly grabbed the trash bags, then found out it had RFID chips attached.
