With the sheriff being an elected official, does anyone know the removal process in FL?

FL law allows for the Governor and Coroner to replace the sheriff, anyway, that's what I've been reading.
I didn't realize, the coroner has jurisdiction over the sheriff in many States and Counties in the US.
I haven't verified the coroner issue in FL, but I know the Governor can.

But when all is said and done, the people of Florida will be demanding his resignation, if not his ass in jail, if he doesn't step down.
I haven't had a chance to hear the dispatch audio yet, but I want to hear where they were told to stand down, or hold off, but I did read where two SWAT officers were relieved of duty for proceeding to the scene, but I think they were police swat.

First problem I see is that this Dispatcher did not "PATCH" into Coral Springs PD Dispatch when they learned that PD was on the scene. A "Patch" would have allowed different responding Police AND RESCUE units to hear all radio traffic over their respective channels.

It also sounds like the on scene units were establising a perimeter and waiting for SWAT.

SWAT often operates on their OWN TAC Channel, so maybe the order was given over this channel?????....also it depends if the channel is UHF or VHF....UNF is line of site only so it may not reach back to the repeater in the Radio room therefore may not be taped. But usually a TAC channel is VHF so it DOES reach and is taped.

That's what I heard as well. What appears to be the case, is training demands they do not enter till they get a 'Clear Enter", I did hear one officer say "Stage at such and such location", which leads me to believe the officers were not allowed to act on their own but had to hold till given orders otherwise.
Good, bad or indifferent, if there are kids being shot, you act, it's what men do.
