Obviously a "HATE" crime, right?




The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office is investigating a bias crime reported Tuesday, March 28, in Troutdale.

Hasel Afshar, 33, who was born in Iran but has lived in America since 2010, returned from a three-day vacation in Canada to find his two-story home on Southeast 26th Court ransacked, the walls coated in racist epithets. The graffiti calls Afshar a "terrorist" and orders the "Muslim" to "get out."

Afshar isn't Muslim. He's Baha'i.

"I'm not Muslim," he explains. "I just grow a beard."


The vandals left a note on Afshar's coffee table, weighed down with seven .45 caliber bullets arranged in the shape of a cross.

'"If I see you here next month, I will shoot you and burn your house,'" the note reads, according to Afshar.

He doesn't know how long it will take to clean up his home. Walls are covered in red paint, couch cushions deliberately torn and his belongings scattered.

In a week or two, once he finishes cleaning up, Afshar says he will sell his home and leave the United States. He has friends in Australia and Canada who he says never experience discrimination like this.

He doesn't have a plan, but he hopes living in an apartment might be safer. He doesn't care if he loses money selling the property he has owned since 2006.

"I'm not going to be a hero and stay here and fight about it." Afshar says. "I'm not going to sit here and wait for someone to shoot me."

The first thing for the investigators to check for is evidence of forced entry.
And, of course, try to get fingerprints.

Also, the article says he lived in America since 2010,
but owned the house since 2006.
Did he leave and come back?

I wonder who he visited in Canada?

But then, Baha'is are not known for fake hate crimes.
So I'm not sure what to make of it.

Attention and sympathy in one of the richest most liberal bleeding heart areas in the US, as well as gullible enough to fall for his BS and adorn his worthless ass with gifts and money.

If this was truly the act of people who hate and are threatening "muslims" or "Non Whites" they would have trashed the place broken things etc etc.

Exactly! Like the work of one person not wanting to deal with actual damage because they have to live there for a while longer.
Hated the couch, never liked it anyway but didn't want to pay to have it hauled away, but it was free so I kept, but now bleeding hearts will happily pay to replace it.
Didn't break cabinets, or even punch holes in the wall, the neighbors might hear. I might get stuck paying for actual damage so I'll keep it at a minimum.

A good detective could make this guy crack...
