Florida Democrat Alan Grayson is under investigation for domestic violence according to a statement from Capt. Angelo Nieves of Florida's Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Along with submitting pictures which reportedly support the allegations, Grayson's wife also alleges that Grayson told her he would leave her "In the gutter" with nothing in the presence of the couple's young children.

Grayson co-sponsored the 2013 re-authorization of the Violence Against Women Act.

Grayson's wife Lolita, who also recently filed for divorce, claiming their 24 year marriage is "irretrievably broken," claims Congressman Grayson "pushed her against a door, causing her to fall to the ground, during a confrontation Saturday at their home on Oak Park Road."

"A heavily redacted Sheriff's Office document released Tuesday identified Lolita Grayson as the victim in the incident and listed the offense under investigation as domestic-violence battery."

Grayson has denied the charges through a spokesperson.

According to the petition, Lolita Grayson was preparing to take the couple's two youngest children to a play date when Alan Grayson "showed up, unannounced" and asked to speak with her inside.

After she refused, retrieved his mail and asked him to leave, Alan Grayson "then deliberately and with force pushed [Lolita Grayson] very hard against the front door, causing [her] to fall to the ground as a result," the petition states.

She told her husband not to touch her, then pushed him in the face and kneed him in the stomach "in order to protect and defend herself" before calling 911, her petition says.

As she was talking to the operator, Alan Grayson told his wife, in the presence of their children, that she "would receive nothing" in their divorce and would be left "in the gutter," the petition states.

Photos filed by Lolita Grayson's attorneys with the petition show large bruises to her left leg and left shoulder.

For everyone else; not him.

I just don't get this.  Grayson seems so sane and in control.

Trust me both men and woman know all the hot buttons after 10 year of marriage let alone 24 years.

I don't want to make light of this incident but what exactly did Grayson have that his wife thought "I gotta get me some of that"? Didn't she know he was a douche?

Great mind would like to know how long can she hold that positions?

Hehe. Mr. Cool, Calm and Collected.

Grayson is easy to hate -- maybe too easy. Having been involved in such doings once or twice, I'll reserve judgement until the facts are in -- and right now they're not.

On the bright side, there's no reason I can't continue thinking he's a lowlife scumbag just as I always have.  :tounge: Maybe next week or next year I can add "...who beats his woman." to the end of that.

Let's just hope we can flip that seat back to the GOP. The silence will be deafening from the dems on this.

Hi,
 No kidding.  I guess the answer is either for eternity or until the image corrupts.  But then do you set the amount of time she held that at the first picture corrupting or the last picture corroding?

I'm not sure if "flip that seat back" is quite right. The Ninth District, where Grayson is now, actually did not exist in its present form before the 2012 election. Yes, there was a Ninth District, but it was a completely different district located on the Gulf Coast surrounding Tampa, and it included Clearwater and New Port Richey, places like that. The new Ninth is a completely inland district in and around Orlando. In a manner of speaking, it came to Grayson, who lives in Orlando. He had formerly represented the old Eighth District.

Cook rates the new Ninth District as D+4.

Thanks for the clarification. I knew he lost once and then got elected again.

This and 1000 other things WOULD allow the GOP to make a mockery of the dem's "war on women" war-cry.  And roll successfully through many elections.

But they don't.  And won't.

Why ?  I don't know.  Laziness ?  Country club indifference  ?  Complacence  ?  RINO being happy with permanent ownership of the loser franchise  ?  Probably all of the above.

Let's hope it's not Andy Jackson's grumpiness!  :tounge:

I think it's the press. I'm not sure how I could go about overemphasizing the importance of that one thing -- dominance of the media.

Harumph on you  !!

We won't own enough of the media within the next 20 years, but we can defeat them as Reagan did.  Talking directly to the American people in press releases, major town hall settings, PR and commercials, telling the truth about people and things, loudly and proudly and not stopping when the crying and name-calling comes.  A concentrated, coordinated, long-term effort.  Not like we've been doing with the poor old "you lie" guy.  He tried, we let him be crucified and didn't tell another truth for 12 months.

That's a part of Florida the Democrats have been loading with Latin immigrants
in order to maintain power as Florida has threatened to become more conservative.
Osceola, population about a quarter million, is 50% Puerto Rican.  They are supposedly
building a new development there to make room for another quarter million.
Sweet little strategy on the part of the Democrats there, don't you think?
I'd like to see Grayson gone, but realistically, he reps a district that has been hand
fashioned. With governors like Bush and Crist, regular Florida middle class has been
pretty well shafted in recent years. Good thing Marc Rubio came along and rid the GOP
of Charlie Crist.
I don't think wife beating is a hot issue with Puerto Ricans...just sayin' that.
If you want to see something interesting, watch the population of those central Florida
counties grow over the past 15 years. A lot of it is about national politics, and a lot
of it uses minorities as tools -- or weapons, depending on where you fit in.
