Ayn Dietrich, an FBI spokesperson in Seattle, said the agency had personnel on their way to the scene to help authorities with the investigation.

DEVELOPING: At least one person was dead and at least six injured Friday morning in a school shooting north of Seattle, authorities said.

Police responded at about 10:45 local time Friday to Marysville-Pilchuck High School in Marysville, Wash., where a gunman believed to be a student opened fire on students before dying from a self-inflicted shot to the head, police told The Seattle Times. Local reports said as many as three people were killed in the incident, but police only confirmed the shooter's death.

Local television stations reported three deaths and said that two people were being airlifted to a hospital. As details of what happened inside the building trickled out, students could be seen exiting the school with their arms raised.

Just heard on the radio. His best friend cheated with his girlfriend, broke his heart, so I'm guessing he shot them both then killed himself.

I read he was from a well known local family of native Americans. Two of the wounded were his cousins. Looks like another sad situation of a troubled young man who did not know how to handle disappointment.
