Let us all raise our glasses to toast the fine job done by our socialist school system....

Quote(AFP)—Americans are enthusiastic about the promise of science but lack basic knowledge of it, with one in four unaware that the Earth revolves around the Sun, said a poll out Friday.

The survey included more than 2,200 people in the United States and was conducted by the National Science Foundation.

Nine questions about physical and biological science were on the quiz, and the average score -- 6.5 correct -- was barely a passing grade.

Just 74 percent of respondents knew that the Earth revolved around the Sun, according to the results released at the American Association for the Advancement of Science meeting in Chicago.

If not that, we do know that their teachers were.

QuoteThe result of the survey, which is conducted every two years, will be included in a National Science Foundation report to President Barack Obama and US lawmakers.

This is good news, now the President and all of Congress will know the answer when asked.      :sneaky:

If you cut and dry them like bricks of peat, we should heat America for the next century without even once having to stip-mine any mountains for coal they won't allow us to have.

If we could squeeze a few watts out of one, it would be well worth it, and their contribution to society would have increased 100 fold.

That sounds like an incomplete survey.  They should sample around 200,000 people.

In the meantime, jettison the Department Of Education.  That cult's like The Giant Grasshopper Invasion, or something.  All they do is sit around on their back legs and eat money.

We can assume that most if not all the DOE crew failed their way uphill, Peter Principle specimens one and all. Demoting them back into non-federal service would inflict untold long-term damage on the states.

We should spare this trauma on local and state educrat bureaucracies by jettisoning this deadwood from planes flying well above the clouds.  Pack one parachute for every four morons. Let them argue who's more entitled as they plummet back to the real world, where taxpayers either pay the outrageous taxes these parasites demand or else lose the house upon whose taxes these leeches have lived very high on the hog.

Splat. Now let's go hire teachers who actually teach, not propagandize or demasculinize, and at the end of the school year can say they genuinely did make a difference in someone's life without hypersexualizing them in that process.
