Title: Yawn, I agree with you
Post by: JustKari on November 03, 2012, 03:53:35 PM
I have felt God's hand in this election as well.  So many things "had" to go right for Mitt and they did.  Considering that Mitt has a very similar campaign team as McCain had, and they are both moderates, we could have ended up with an '08 repeat, but we haven't.  I voted for McCain, not because of his plans or ideas, but because he wasn't preaching socialism.

I will be honest, I was very meh about Mitt at first, a lot of people were.  The more I read about his business acumen, his charity work, and charitable giving, the more I like him.  You are right, about everything turning on Obama, when Akin made his rape/abortion comment, Obama's team jumped on it, and started defining their party based on it.  All of a sudden, the Dem party was seen as Sandra Fluke and giant vulvas.  Bad idea, actually turned women off who want to vote with our brains not our overies.

Their was the dog on the car story you mentioned, backfired when we found out Obama ate dog.

CFA, the left dug up old quotes to enrage their base, backfired, people turned out in DROVES to support CFA.

Obama team rips on Romney for owning a horse and paying for boarding, backfired turns out a lot of old time DFLers own horses too, and boarding a horse pays someone, that's job creation.

I don't even have to mention the debate, obviously Obama thought he was so well-liked he didn't even have to show up.  Backfired, people realised Mitt was not the rich, evil, boogieman from Obama's commercials.

On and on, at every turn Obama keeps miss-stepping, Mitt makes up the difference.

It's not the way I'd want it, but now you can add Sandy to the list of things that backfired for Obama.  He got a small boost when he showed up, but then he flew off to Las Vagas and left the people to stew and suffer.  His brief appearance only reminded the People 1 or 2 days later that he's JUST a politician and doesn't really care about them except their vote.

I can't see them waiting hours in line to cast a vote for Obama.

So wait: by this logic, if Obama wins the election, it will have been by God's will, right?

EVERYTHING is the result of God's will (according to the religious) because he is the imaginary THREE "Os" (OMNISCIENT, OMNIPRESENT, OMNIPOTENT).

And, I want to make it perfectly clear, they are entitled to believe whatever they want.

WHY ?

Because we are dealing with FAITH, not KNOWLEDGE.

Eventually, in this discussion the religious will attempt to obfuscate their imaginary BS with the concept of FREE WILL.

But, the bottom line that checkmates that religious BS is that if one plays the game according to their rules then if God is OMNISCIENT then when he created everything he already KNEW the outcome......YET, being OMNIPOTENT he STILL allowed the undesirable EVIL to exist.

CONCLUSION: God KNOWING the results of what he created BEFOREHAND, i.e. the EVIL of agony, the diseases, the horrid torture, the HORRENDOUS EXISTENCE and DEATH of some .....he still, being OMNIPOTENT, did didley squat from creating a World where people would be happy ......and if they would be bored....then with God's OMNIPOTENCE he'd create them bored-proof.

You presume that "lack of evil" or "lack of suffering" is the highest good.  If this is true, then non-existence guarantees a lack of both evil and suffering.  Is that desirable?

There isn't any Good or Evil in non-existence.

Then what is "good"?

Does it matter? Non-existence is just that - non-existence.

It's kind of like say, my car can do 180 mph flat out, but I don't have any gas to start it.

Its irrelevant.
