Why are passionate atheists such raging a-holes?

You have that right.  But don't just blame the demons.  Man himself has had a hand in it along with government.

Possibly demon-possessed or the equivalent. The origin of wicked human behavior in terms of its destructive nature is unimportant I suppose - at least in regard to its effect. Whether people behave wickedly because they are possessed by a supernatural, malevolent spirit or because they are severely neurotic or schizoid probably doesn't matter much to those who suffer their abuse.

BTW, if you want to see an entertaining movie about demon possession try the Possession of Michael King. It's a satisfying excursion into why it is unwise to ignore the Biblical edict for one to "refrain from being overly-focused on the occult". It's one thing to acknowledge the possibility of supernatural evil, another entirely to regard it casually or flippantly - as so many far leftists and militant atheists do.

Personally I think that hard drug abuse and dabbling in Satanism are very dangerous to people - and was glad to see a film that dealt with that. 'Not for impressionable young people, however.

Virtually every self-admitted militant atheist or Satanist I have ever personally known or learned much about (albeit not very many) seemed to me to be severely disturbed psychologically and somewhat dangerous both to themselves and to others.

I have personally seen strong evidence of and spoken with very reputable psychotherapists about how severely disturbed people sometimes manifest unusually strong ESP ability and that it does not serve them or those who surround them well. preoccupation with the occult can weaken what psychologists call "reality loyalty" which is the sense that normal people have that basic reality does not change.

If bizarre thoughts become too strong the ability to function as a person in the real world may be lost because "ideas of reference" can start to dominate one's life instead of more positive, worthwhile concerns.
