Nope. Not my "take" on it.God has let Satan rule the Earth for a long time. This is because He needs us to see that we can never effectively, govern ourselves. We need God's Kingdom to come back to the Earth. All this other hoopla, is merely "fluff" that we experience from our Imperfect Existence. If we were able to act with Wisdom, Honor, and Honesty we could govern ourselves. But, we needed to be shown the right way.Since half of us seem to get it, and the other half squawk about Religion vs. State, we have let God be dismissed as a society. We disparage Israel, which He warned us Not to do. We exploit the poor and sick, fatherless, widows and orphans to increase our own worth. We do not maintain the wildlife and we don't care for our home, the Earth. Now, as noted, we turned our backs on God and His Systems. We elected a Great Man to lead our nation. He was bringing us back to the Greatness God saw in us 300 years ago. And look what the left did. They cheated us out of our President. If this stands, which I still hope it won't, this may rein in the End Times and accelerate the Second Coming. No one knows for sure. Just my two cents.
Christians should be among the happiest people on earth. The world is not perfect, never has been, has been far worse at times, but it is a gift from God. We are here to make it better, spread the word, and set the example. We are still free to worship, if the younger generation is turning away from God, look at the examples the older generation is setting. We are not here to just wait it out. As bad as things can look, God sent us someone to help fix it. Christians do still make a difference and can change our country for the better. Trump exposed evil for all to see, that is how change starts.
God says in his word that things are only going to get worse. NOT better.
I guess it all depends upon how you define the words "worse" and "better" and what "interpretation" of God's word one reads, how it is read and what the goal is in reading it.
With all due respect...that would be man's way of doing things. God is going to take credit if he does anything. Thing is...we don't deserve for hm to do anything. We deserve judgment.
So your comment creates lots of questions. For example, was Jesus Christ going to "take credit" for His death on the cross? Did the Romans "take credit" for crucifying Jesus Christ? If we "deserve judgement", does God or Jesus "take credit" for salvation? Eternity? Heaven? Did God "take credit" for creation? Isn't the Bible full of things that God could and should "take credit" for?
What if the uncertainty, paranoia and anxiety that this nation is going through right now is earned? What if as a society we were so smug, so materialistic, so callous and so arrogant that we deserve what is happening right now? The statistics all show that America has been on a downhill slide ever since religious education and prayer was removed from the schools. It's gotten to the point that even prayer at things like graduations, athletic events, etc. have been "banned" from the school.Many/most of the "television evangelists" are all scamming for the big bucks. They ride in the limos with their private Jets and thousand dollar suits. Many of them even charge for "events" and "services" which are nothing more than entertainment. In many big cities, murder is increasing and it isn't safe to walk down a darkened street anymore. Crime seems to rule the day. Drugs and alcohol are now mainstream and are accepted as "normal". Drug overdoses are seen as part of that "normal" and law enforcement and EMS units now carry things for overdose patients. They say that church attendance is down as is honesty, integrity and truth. The media now pushes a narrative rather than just reporting on what actually occurred. So, I go back to my question. What if this is all occurring because as a society we've asked for it?
