A group of us guys got together yesterday morning for our usual monthly breakfast. I sat and listened as one after the other stated that they no longer watch the "news", internet "news", television "news" nor any other source of "news". The consensus was that what used to be "news" is now just opinion, propaganda, political rhetoric and hyperbole meant to shape and warp public opinion. Many/most of them said that they hated being blatantly lied to and having their intelligence insulted. If it wasn't so sad and truthful, it might have been funny.

I had nothing to offer them. I had no ray of hope other than that God was in control and He would rapture them when He thought it best. My mind went to the scriptures where it states quite clearly that humans are exceedingly sinful and will use any situation for personal gain.

We were reminded that it is our responsibility to serve God until He raptures His people from the wrath to come. Until then we cannot look to a political solution, a political party nor a human government. The Bible reminds us to look up from where our help comes from.
