Title: Westboro Baptist Church redemption story
Post by: JustKari on February 08, 2013, 07:14:10 AM
Megan, the vocal supporter of her grandfather who started the KS based "church", has had a complete change of heart.  She was questioned about redemption from sins, and how a gay person could ever be redeamed if they were dead?  It made her begin to question other teachings of that church.

What I love most about this story though, is that she threw out the bad dogma, not the basis of her faith.
QuoteJust imagine what it is like to walk away from everything you have ever known. Consider how traumatic it would be to know that your family is never supposed to speak to you again. Think of how hard it would be to have a fortress of faith built around you, and to have to dismantle it yourself, brick by brick, examining each one and deciding whether there's something worth keeping or whether it's not as solid as you thought it was.

Wow, that sounds like a liberal finally understanding they were fools all their lives for believing socialism actually works.
She saw the light, and is now excommunicated. It's a start...
