Writing Style of the Bible

Why is a lot of the Bible written with tons of metaphors and figurative language instead of a concrete, logic and a scientific based way? 

Wouldn't the language and the wording of the Bible be more clear if it was concrete and specific instead of figurative and abstract?

I will say that my favorite part is Noah's Ark.  God stated what he wanted in specific and concrete terms to Noah.

Because the majority of the people were illiterate and stories can be repeated from memory, unlike dry explanations that require in depth discussions.
If you want to teach everyone Gods message, you do it in story format.

Story Format?  Sort of like the Narnia Chronicles like The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.  The Narnia Chronicles were trying to convey points as well I believe. 

Holy Fucking Shit!  I think I know how to read the Bible properly.  In the Narnia it doesn't matter how the animals can talk, how magic works or how the dimensional gates work or the magic rings and where they came from but what matters is the moral lessons that are conveyed through the fictional stories of the Chronicles of Narnia.

Same thing with the Bible.  The Bible is a collection of stories and events (whether they're true or not is irrelevant) to convey how one is supposed to be moral and what the consequences are if you are not.

In other words, read the Bible as I would read the stories of Narnia and try to get the underlying moral point of the differing stories of the Bible just like the chronicles of Narnia.  It doesn't matter how God formed the world or how God is infinite or anything like that.  Look at the moral points being made.

It only doesnt matter in the sense that it is beyond our comprehension and our being saved isnt dependent on our understanding those points. I would say that whether they are true or not does matter if only for the credibility of the bible. If it is lying about some things then why not lying about everything?

You always have to remember God is smarter than us and he created the universe for our curious minds. We will never fully understand everything in this life as our human brains are incapable.

God is our father speaking to us children. If you try to explain things to children in depth and scientific it will only confuse them more. This is ESPECIALLY TRUE when human language is so imperfect and doenst even have words for phenomena that we havent discovered yet. How cld God possibly explain gravity to early man? Likewise imagine all the thing we havent discovered and thus havent named yet. How could God even talk to us about those things.

People already complain the bible is too long. So I maintain he talks to us like that because in the end he know it is truly the most effective way for the most people.

T-Hunt, I'm Autistic. I have to laugh at the irony of this.   I don't even understand most people, how they think and why they do what they do.  So, of course I won't understand God if I can't understand others.

But, what all I can do is read the Bible and listen to what other people say it says and means and then it gets filtered through my own autistic brain.
