I really don't understand why you're acting all butthurt when I asked a simple question.

If you want, I could edit real scarcasm into that post. Just so you could see the difference.

Maybe it's just that I'm approaching geezerhood, or maybe it's having been around Pre-Mil, Pre-Trib Evangelicals for over 4 decades, but I thought the fact that Israel became independent in 1948 and having fought wars as a nation in 1948 and 1956 very common knowledge. I sit corrected. I also commonly check comments I make about historical events, but maybe I'm odd that way. Or maybe I've been around Internet news/politics discussion sites a long time and have developed defensive habits to preclude quibbling.

I just think a more appropriate response to a simple question would have been something along the lines of "You're getting the six days war mixed up with when they were established as a nation." That's how a normal person would respond to an innocuous question during a normal conversation. I don't wiki every historical fact I read posted on the internet and I don't wiki everything I post. I just expect to be corrected or answered in a civil manner when I ask a question or make a mistake. This site sure has a lot of aggressive geezers or people approaching geezerhood.

You're*

It feels like I'm always on someone's lawn, get yelled at, and step off the lawn only to find I'm on another lawn again. If I live to be in old age, I know I'll be the same way though. I should be taking notes on how to be properly grumpy.

You're like me -- you've just about got it down.  :tounge:

It's getting to the point where I don't even like myself any more. I'm just a pain in the ass, and I know it, and I hate it, and I don't even want to change it. Somehow, I've started to get comfortable with the word 'curmudgeon.'

Bet you're like me, turning into your dad? :scared:
Actually, like him, I too wear it like a badge of honor. Ya just get to a point in your life, where you just don't give a fuck what people say or think about you anymore, and I'm definitely there.

People on this forum think I'm an ass, well let me assure them, I am!

Let me assure you, I was there long before you.

The Dr. just reminds me of a 22 year, trying to impress the blond sitting next to him.     He seems to lose his temper a lot for being a Dr.

T stop using them big words.   I have to stop reading to see what you said.

I don't lose my temper! I just don't put up with crap. I assure you though that I certainly am not mad or anything when writing my rants in response to some people. I actually find it humorous and get a kick out of it. If someone here knew me in real life, they would vouch for that.

And I'm not 22 or impressing a blonde. I'm a whopping 33 and married to a Mexican woman. She can put up with my spiciness.

Curmudgeon = grump. I'm not trying to confuse anybody.  :tounge: (Anyway, it's only three syllables....)

Why do you think everything I post is an attempt to impress you? It's a forum and I'm making conversation. It's not all about you. Calm down.

I've never claimed to be normal.

I have trouble fathoming how what should be very common historical knowledge is not common. And how people can make statements about history without even bothering to take a few seconds to use a search engine or Wikipedia.

And your post corrected my math based on the factoid that Israel became a nation in 1967. Correcting people's math isn't "aggressive". Get the 2x4 out of your own eye before inspecting mine for sawdust specs!

What was this thread about? It better not be about me, because I'm tiresome and boring.
