As a european I feel like the more you see a decline of religion and religious communities the stronger the government grows. There Are just about no religious communities here anymore, very little charity. People Are 100% dependant on welfare if they find themselves in a tough spot. IT seems the majority of big government people Are atheists, they have just replaced god with government IT seems...  IT leeds to a lot of lonliness, depression and anxiety. The number of young people struggling with mental issues seem to be on the rise here. Yet various surveys says denmark etc has the best quality of life? Measured by what? Welfare programs and material goods apparently. But does that really make you happy and fulfilled? From what Ive seen of happiness research, religious people tend to be the most content with life? Not that its easy to measure happiness in any way.
