Give man unimpeachable proof of a higher power and they call you nuts. Then the denier tries to explain away the intelligence of life's ability to adapt to it's surroundings, not to mention their very own existence.

I'm always amazed at how the faithless try and justify their own existence as some sort of fluke.

You're inserting religion into a topic about a supreme being.
Religion is merely a vessel for which to grasp something beyond the comprehension of man.
Man corrupts said religion for selfish reasons.

What purpose does the concept of a supreme being serve other than to justify the establishment of religions as a tool for a self-proclaimed chosen minority to exercise control over the majority?

I'm pretty sure that, if a supreme being exists, he/she/it is secure enough in his/her/its supreme beinghood, that it doesn't really care if we believe in it or not!

I see where your block is. You equate mans belief in God, as meaning an individual entity, God is bigger than one individual could ever imagine, God is life all around you, you are a part of God.
Man has a tendency to use metaphors and names to explain the unimaginable, when in truth, God is beyond mans comprehension.
One would have to unlearn everything and approach the entity from a totally fresh perspective to even begin to scratch the surface.

Don't try and view God as a living being, God is not, God just is.
I can only tell you my interpretation from my personal experiences. I see God as bigger than anything you could imagine, a "Force of Energy" for a lack of better description, an energy anyone can tap into, you just have to believe it exists.

But trying to see God in an anthropomorphic light, is like trying to understand the other side of the universe, you can't because it is the unknown.
I know most won't agree with me, even call me blasphemous, but my relationship with God has been exemplary.

All I can say, is I have faith of the existence of something bigger than any man could ever hope to understand.
All I am, is by the grace of God, my entire life has been blessed because of it's existence, everything I needed or asked for was given to me, never exactly what I wanted, because I'm too stupid to know whats best for me, but the powers that be, knew.

I could spend hours giving examples of what has been given, but I won't, just suffice it to say, being able to retire in my early 40s with absolutely no bills was a gift from God.
I wish I could take credit, but I won't lie, I'm not that smart.

But if you can look beyond religion, and simply accept the fact that your very existence was no accident, then you're closer to understanding.

And that my friend, is why it's called faith.
