This should be very interesting to watch these knuckle heads stay speechless with their month wide open looking for lies to tell.

We use to sing a song in Teen Challange..."Aint no rock going to sing my song".

God rocks and Jesus is Lord!

People sleep peacefully at night because there are a few tough men prepared to do violence on their behalf.

A foolish man complains about his torn pockets.

A wise man uses it to scratch his balls.

The title of the movie presents a false dilemma.  It's not "Evolution vs. God," it's "Evolution vs. Not Evolution" or "Evolution vs. Young-Earth Creationism."

I'm not sure I understand. You believe there's room for evolution the way the Atheist religion teaches it? It's not compatible with the Bible, if you believe the Bible.

Glad to see they talk about evolution as FAITH.

What do you mean?  Unguided evolution?  Well, no.

QuoteIt's not compatible with the Bible, if you believe the Bible.

Simplistic.  The Bible does not say how God created.  People point to timeline, but it isn't necessary to interpret six days as literal days (for a few reasons).

So, yes, it can be compatible with the Bible.

Of course it does. You've disappointed me to find out you're "one of 'them'"

Oh no!  Does that mean "not a real Christian because doesn't believe in a literal 6-day Creation"?

Okay...so what do you do with this:

"Then God said, "Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds." And it was so." (Genesis 1:7, emphasis added)

"And God said, "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind." And it was so." (Genesis 1:24, emphasis added)

Is it the mechanism or the timeline that is the problem?

Part of evolution is compatible with Christianity. The rest is not.

First of all, that 6000 years is 6000 years since the fall, not since the beginning of creation. There is a gap of unknown length between God creating man and man falling into sin, since man did not die before then.

Second, the word translated "day" also has the meaning of "period of time" or "era." So the literal 6 day creation may not be true. But it could be true, since God has the power to arrange things any way he wants to. So there are several possibilities, and science can't tell them apart:

A. God created the universe according to the 6 day creation, and left all of the "clues" so that those who believe in using science to date things (instead of believing God) would get them wrong. All of the fossils and strata were made in the Flood, but given wrong radioactive dating values to confound unbelievers. The stars and galaxies, and the background radiation would also be placed close to where they are now, with the motions needed to make scientists think the universe is very old.

B. God has a speed control on time, and sped time up before the fall. At the time of the fall, he slowed time as it is perceived down. So it took him 6 days to create the universe, and then time was slowed down to the current speed.

C. As the size of the universe increases, time my slow down by itself.

D. God took billions of years (our time, not His) to create the universe, and the 6-day creation is a summary of the 6 steps God used to create the universe that was misunderstood by those who wrote it down:

1. Light (the big flash!)
2. Separation of energy and matter
3. Gravity and plant life
4. Stars, planets, and moons
5. Fish and birds
6. Land animals and man

----

Note that natural selection has been scientifically proved, ans has no conflict with the Bible.

The conflict with the Bible is that Evolutionists also say that life and the various kinds of life came about by random chance. The Bible says that God designed them.

There is a serious conflict with the random chance origin of life. The first cell might conceivably come about by random chance. The second cell (produced by division) is the problem.

If a ribosome was included in the first cell by chance, then how did the instructions to make a ribosome later get on the DNA? And how did the second cell have any ribosomes to make proteins from the DNA without the instructions to make a new one?

If s ribosome was included in the DNA of the first cell by chance, then what was used to read the DNA to make the first cell? A ribosome is needed to read the DNA to make a ribosome.

This miracle of this double random chance (ribosome code on the DNA and a handy ribosome in the first cell to read the DNA) is like putting the first CD into the first CD recording device, and finding the plans for the CD recorder already recorded on the CD.

But if God made the first cell, He could make all of the parts He needed for a fully functioning cell capable of reproducing itself.

God could also use viruses to send "code patches" to cells to create new species from old ones.

Maybe the misprint I found in a book puts a funny end to this discussion:

"Most scientists believe that the universe began through a process called the "Big Band Theory."

So Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey did it?

Even if it presents a false dilemma, why is it titled "Evolution vs God"? I don't see evolution as being irreconcilable with the existence of a divine being per se. Now if it is Yahweh (the god of the ancient Hebrews) then I can see a conflict. I see a conflict between evolution and the Bible's account of Genesis. Theistic evolution and progressive creationism both seem to me to clash with the best reading of Genesis. I am not a Christian but I agree with people like the late Henry Morris that Genesis is best, if not only, consistent with a young cosmos and a global flood. Evolution destroys the basis for atonement theology in my judgment.

So..."the heavens declare the glory of God"...but with a lie?

QuoteB. God has a speed control on time, and sped time up before the fall. At the time of the fall, he slowed time as it is perceived down. So it took him 6 days to create the universe, and then time was slowed down to the current speed.

Interesting idea.  Evidence?

QuoteC. As the size of the universe increases, time my slow down by itself.

Possible.  But once again, evidence?

QuoteD. God took billions of years (our time, not His) to create the universe, and the 6-day creation is a summary of the 6 steps God used to create the universe that was misunderstood by those who wrote it down:

1. Light (the big flash!)
2. Separation of energy and matter
3. Gravity and plant life
4. Stars, planets, and moons
5. Fish and birds
6. Land animals and man

Are those literal, sequential steps?  For example, do we have plant life for thousands (millions?) of years before the sun and moon exist?

Yes, that is the crux of the issue.

QuoteThere is a serious conflict with the random chance origin of life. The first cell might conceivably come about by random chance. The second cell (produced by division) is the problem.

Maybe, maybe not.  There's certainly a leap there.  There's also a leap from asexual reproduction to sexual reproduction.
