Any Regrets In Life?

I was talking to an old friend awhile back, and he told me of a long list of regrets, though this old acquaintance I've known since 1959, has a habit of pessimism.
After hearing what seemed to be a myriad of confessions, he asked me what mine were, and for the life of me, couldn't come up with a single one, even crap that nearly killed me leaving me with permanent physical damage.
To me, these are what makes you who you are, they become a part of your life.

Though I did think of one much later, and to most it would seem meaningless, it still bothers me that I didn't lend a hand when someone needed one, and I was in a position to help.

I guess my question is, are regrets really that big of a deal, is it normal that people accept them and move on.
The Catholic Church seems to profit from it via confession, as do psychiatrists and the pharmaceutical Co's.
So are regrets a failure to accept the things you aren't proud of, or an inability to move on, orrrrrr, just conscience eating at one later in life?

We are all different and deal with life in different ways.

I'm sure I have some regrets...... but I don't dwell on them.  It is of no profit to do so.

That's what I thought. But this guys life is packed full of them. I just wondered if his being an eternal pessimist was the problem.

By the time you've gotten enough experience to have life reasonably well figured out,
you're too old to do much of anything with the knowledge.

Here are the 10 RINOs who voted to impeach Trump on Jan. 13, 2021 - NEVER forget!
WY  Liz Cheney      SC 7  Tom Rice             WA 4  Dan Newhouse    IL 16  Adam Kinzinger    OH 16  Anthony Gonzalez
MI 6  Fred Upton    WA 3  Jaime Herrera Beutler    MI 3  Peter Meijer       NY 24  John Katko       CA 21  David Valadao

True Confession.
I have one regret.
My girlfriend when I was in High School spent allot of time making a dress to go to a special town dance..
I went to pick her up and she was not ready yet. Her father (chief of police) and I went to the saloon to play pool and drink beer. Note: I'm from a small western town that not care what age you drank beer).
We got back to her house at midnight. I'm sorry Bethie.

Pat too. I got shipped off to China.

That's an honest regret. Did she ever forgive you?

It was a town over from mine.
She sure avoided me. Hope she is not an old maid or something.

Just on a basic level, wish I would've stopped procrastinating so much.  It's crazy how many years pass by.
