Title: An Inspiring Short Film
Post by: kramarat on January 28, 2013, 05:32:39 AM
I really liked this. For our athiest members: Don't get the wrong idea. This is in no way intended to kick off an argument about the existence of God. It's one man's experience, and I found it uplifting.

Proof of Life After Death!! This Man Died At The Hospital!! His Story Is AWESOME!! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBXeK8uefVs#ws)

I don't have 40 minutes of bandwidth to burn, but I can tell you from experience, that death is merely an interlude back to life.
My personal opinion is that what we perceive as life is nothing more than a stopping off point in a long journey.
I've died more than once, and remember how I was happy to be free of my earthly body.

Quick question before I decide to watch it or not; is this supposed to be inspirational to atheists or Christians? Or both? Just curious since you made the disclaimer about not wanting it to turn into a debate.

I'm not quite sure what you mean when you say you have died more than once...care to elaborate?

Inspirational is in the mind of the beholder, let your conscience be your guide.

If you happen to be an athiest, I wouldn't think that it would be offensive. It's a guy relating his experience during a very near death experience, if not a full death experience. If you are offended by the mere mention of God, I would suggest that you skip it.

Motorcycle wrecks, electrocuted, and honestly, I can't remember what caused the other, though one caused severe memory loss. :blushing:

Oh, now I remember, it was on the operating table.

However, I might add, I am the most nonreligious person you'll ever meet outside a deist.
But what I saw and remember had nothing to do with God, or pearly gates, it was all about being held from continuing my journey afterlife, there was someone I was very familiar with there as my guide that never spoke nor did I recognize. It was kind of like a dimension between life and death, some call it Purgatory, though I didn't feel any fear whatsoever.
In fact, I didn't want to come back here, but it inferred it wasn't my time yet, and suddenly I was slammed back into my body, and it was not a great feeling to come back.
I look forward to the day it is my time, but I will not rush it.

Point is, this isn't really life, this is just one point in a long long journey that is a compilation of life.
Don't waste it, it's a wonderful gift.

Yes, I know, but I wanted to ask first because I don't watch every 40 minute video posted on the web.

Well no of course not. It would depend on the context and the types of claims he is making.

It's interesting and worth watching. Not a religious film. More like something you would expect to see on the History Channel, if they were doing a series on NDEs.

It's a good watch. I don't want to give away the whole story.

Something I would expect to see on the History Channel? He was saved by aliens then....

I only got half way through it before I had to run off and do something else, so I don't have much to say about it yet.

Just skip it, idiot!
While you're running off doing something else, attempt to find something worthwhile to post. Better yet; just skip posting, as well.
The world will be better for it.

Is this considered normal etiquette for you or this forum? Have I done something overly offensive that I'm unaware of?

You're in the religion forum, and you keep asking for a reason to watch the little film. One would assume that it ties into religion.

I'm not offended. My patience just runs out quickly when I'm expected to respond to senseless posts.

I don't care if you watch it or not; nor do I require a running commentary on your decisions. :glare:

Perhaps we should try acting like adults.
