A short biography of Muhammad

Everything in this article is derived from Islam's own official books:
the Quran, Sirah Rasul Allah (Journey of the Prophet of Allah), and the Hadith.
Muslims do not dispute the historical accuracy of the events in this article.

The Quran is NOT a counterpart of the Bible.
Its counterpart would be if you would gather all of the quotations of Jesus,
take them out of context, and group them by subject.

Sirah Rasul Allah is the official biography of Muhammad.

The Hadith is a collection of quotations by and observations of Muhammad.
The word "hadith" is like "sheep" - singular and plural are the same word.
Every hadith starts with, "I heard (name) say that he heard Muhammad say..."
Every hadith is a second hand account of some event in Muhammad's life.
Like the Quran, they are grouped by subject.



Muhammad, the founder of Islam (which means "submission" in Arabic)
was born around the year 570, in Mecca, which is now in Saudi Arabia.

He was the son of a merchant. 
His family took him to live in the desert for his first two years
as was customary due to the lack of sanitation in Arabic cities at that time.
Muhammad's father died before he was born.  His mother died when he was six.
His father's brother, Abu Talib took over care of the boy.

This uncle was also a merchant. 
He took Muhammad along with him on his trading journeys.
While traveling, Muhammad was exposed to a variety of religious beliefs,
including Judaism and Christianity.
His knowledge of those religions came second hand. 
He never became fully committed to either one.
He never learned to read and write, so he could not learn directly from scripture.

At age 25, he married Kadijah, about age 40.
As some people of Mecca did back then, Muhammad would sometimes go into seclusion
in the surrounding mountains, seeking spiritual visions.
One time, he had visions that were so vivid they frightened him.
His wife encouraged him to embrace the visions, and accept his role as a prophet.

Mecca was the location of an ancient Hindu temple that was a shrine to 360 deities.
One of the deities in the temple was named Allah, the moon god.
Muhammad declared that Allah was the only true god, and that all of the others were false.
The people of Mecca were displeased with this, since much of their income came from
people traveling to Mecca from other places to worship their particular gods.
A few people believed Muhammad, and became his followers.

Meanwhile, Yathrib (today called Medina)
was composed of about a dozen tribes of various heritages. 
Each tribe lived in its own walled off section of the city,
which would be closed up tightly every night.
There were many feuds going on among the tribes of Yathrib.
The atmosphere was much like the warfare among street gangs seen today in some cities.
Many people were being killed. 
The population was becoming desperate for ANYTHING that could end the warfare.

In the year 622, the patriarchs of the various tribes
got together and decided to consult Muhammad,
hoping that his new religion might bring peace to their war-torn city.
They liked what they heard,
and invited him to Yathrib/Medina to proclaim his religion.
The patriarchs, in consultation with Muhammad,
also drew up a treaty to be agreed upon by the several tribes,
which today is sometimes called "the Constitution of Medina."

Muhammad's followers in Mecca trickled out of the city one at a time,
so as to not alarm the rulers.
They joined Muhammad in Medina,
but had to leave many of their possessions behind.

The strict moral code of Muhammad's new religion
brought order to the formerly chaotic Medina.
Muhammad claimed to be the fulfillment of the Jewish and Christian scriptures.
The three Jewish tribes of Medina clearly recognized that
Muhammad's statements about the scriptures
did not match what the scriptures actually said.
Muhammad claimed that the scriptures were wrong,
that Allah had appointed him to be the prophet
who would correct all the errors of the previous scriptures.
The Jewish tribes would never accept that proposition,
so Muhammad decided that he had to silence them.

Muhammad played on the intrigue between the various tribes,
and through subterfuge, manipulated them into
getting rid of the Jewish tribes, one at a time.
The first two tribes, the Banu Qaynuqa, the Banu Nadir,
were driven from Medina, and their property taken from them.

The third tribe, the Banu Qurayza, was eliminated later.

Muhammad also led the now united tribes of Medina in
raids upon trading caravans traveling across the desert.
Muhammad was a pirate.
The people of Mecca were especially angered by this,
since Mecca was source of many of those caravans,
and the destination of many others.
In the year 627, Mecca assembled an army to come and attack Medina,
to put Muhammad out of business.
Muhammad ordered the digging of a trench around the city
to make it easier to defend.
Thus it is called the Battle Of The Trench.

The third Jewish tribe, the Banu Qurayza, made a separate peace with Mecca.
They loaned digging tools to the Muslim tribes, but did not fight the Meccans,
who in return, did not attack that section of the city.
Medina's defenses held.  The Meccans were repelled.

Then Muhammad exacted revenge upon the Banu Qurayza, the only remaining Jewish tribe.
He ordered the beheading of every male old enough to have pubic hair, about 800 people.
He ordered that all of the women and small children be bound into slavery.

In the year 629, Muhammad and Mecca signed a ten year truce.
The next year, Muhammad led an army of 10,000 followers and conquered Mecca.
He spared the lives of most who surrendered and submitted to his religion.
He denied any chance of mercy to two women
who had earlier composed songs that mocked him.
He also destroyed every idol in the Kaaba except Allah.

Muhammad died in the year 632,
possibly caused partly by an attempt to poison him a couple of years earlier.
Muhammad's forces had captured a village,
and forced a woman to prepare a meal for them.
Unhappy about being conquered, she put poison in the food. 
Muhammad detected it and spat it out, but still became ill.
Of course, he ordered that she be beheaded.
Another of his company swallowed his portion of the food, and died that night.

Shortly after Muhammad died, Abu Bakr proclaimed himself to be Islam's new leader,
since he had been Muhammad's right hand man,
and the father of Muhammad's favorite (child) wife.
Ali, Muhammad's son in law, also declared himself to be Islam's new leader.
The two factions began killing each other.
Ali's followers are known as Shiites,
Abu Bakr's followers are known as Sunnis.
This war continues even today. 
Syria, Iran, and 60% of Iraq are Shiite.  Nearly all of the rest of Islam is Sunni.
Those facts are key issues in understanding the ongoing warfare in the region today.

The Kaaba that exists today is a replacement structure, built in the year 1630.
It is the focal point of the hajj, the journey to Mecca
that every Muslim is expected to make sometime in his life.
No "infidel" (unbeliever) is ever allowed to enter Mecca,
but satellite images of the city can be viewed online.

So, is Islam a violent religion? 
You judge a religion by its founder. 
It is clear that Muhammad was
cunning, cruel, ruthless, treacherous, and murderous.
Individual Muslims today might be upright people,
following the strict moral rules part of Islam,
but many Germans in 1940 were also upright individuals
who supported an evil cause.

You judge a religion by its founder, and its "official doctrines"
not by people who only partly follow the religion.

Many people today cite Hitler as the ultimate embodiment of evil.
Muhammad actually DID achieve what Hitler was trying to do:
Muhammad actually DID establish a "thousand year reich!"
Actually, Hitler was just a failed attempt to become another Muhammad!



These three Bible passages describe Islam well:

    Colossians chapter 2

20  Since you died with Christ to the elemental spiritual forces of this world,
      why, as though you still belonged to the world, do you submit to its rules:
21  "Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!"?
22  These rules, which have to do with things that are all destined to perish with use,
      are based on merely human commands and teachings.
23  Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom,
      with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body,
      but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence.

    2 Corinthians chapter 11

13  For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ.
14  And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.
15  It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness.
      Their end will be what their actions deserve.

    Galatians chapter 1

6  I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting
    the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ
    and are turning to a different gospel—
7  which is really no gospel at all.
    Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion
    and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ.
8  But even if we or an angel from heaven
    should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you,
    let them be under God's curse!
9  As we have already said, so now I say again:
    If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted,
    let them be under God's curse!

The last one is of special interest. 
The Apostle Paul repeats his point to emphasize it.
(It's the only place in the New Testament where such emphasis is given!)

What fails to come through in many English translations
is brought through in the American Standard Version (1901)
and some of the others: 
"if any man preacheth unto you any gospel other than that which ye received,
let him be anathema."
Anathema is a Greek word that has no English equivalent.
It means, "let him be considered the very essence of all that ever was, is, and ever will be evil!"

What's translated as, "Let them be under God's curse!"
really means, "Let them be under the ULTIMATE curse!"

THAT'S what the Bible says about anyone who preaches another gospel!
THAT'S what the Bible therefore says about Muhammad!

In addition to the above, Mohammed was a pedophile.  He "Married" a six year old girl, Aisha, and "Consummated" the marriage when Aisha was nine. Mohammed is considered the "Perfect man" by Muslims and they are to emulate him in every way.  Many, many little girls are married at six or nine or so and they bleed to death when the marriage is "Consummated."  Some of them who survive are physically damaged and unable to bear children when they are adults.  I assume most people know about the physical altering of little girls, genital mutilation.  Once performed, often with a piece of broken glass or a razor blade, the girl is unable to enjoy sex and many are in constant pain from the mutilation.  This is for the convenience of the Muslim man as a means of keeping his wives from straying.

The reason Muslim women cover their hair is because Muslim men believe an uncovered woman is like a piece of meat to a cat.  They will go into an uncontrollable frenzy at the mere sight of female hair, wrist, ankle, forearm.  In some Muslim countries, Saudi Arabia being one, a woman who is raped must have four male witnesses to the rape. Otherwise she is stoned to death. Happens every Friday night in Riyadh.

Islam not only holds slaves, but encourages that when an Islamic army conquers a territory, the men are killed and the women and children are taken as slaves.   ISIS is doing this and contrary to our political leaders' pronouncements, this is not radical Islam.  This is Islam by the book.

Mohammed was a warlord, a murderer, a pedophile and a misogynist.  Every Muslim who believes and practices what is commanded by the Koran must follow his example.  There is no such thing as moderate Islam or radical Islam.  As the PM of Turkey said, Islam is Islam.  These are the people who are being brought into our country from Syria.  Their goal, as stated by the Muslim Brotherhood, whom Obama regularly entertains at the White House, is to destroy the US from within.  Hillary Clinton's close aide, Huma Abedin, is a Muslim and her father was one of the founders of the Muslim Brotherhood.  She was born in the US but was taken to her parents' homeland, Saudi Arabia, when she was a child and was raised there.  She returned to the US to attend Georgetown University.  She was given top secret clearance when Clinton was Secretary of State. 

Folks, these people want to kill us.  No matter what they say, if they practice Islam they are commanded by Allah to kill infidels, that is, unbelievers such as Christians and Jews,  They are commanded by the Koran to conquer the world for Allah.
