Was This Your Life As A 16 YRO
« on: March 09, 2019, 10:20:52 AM »
Listening to a song that puzzled the shit out of me.
The opening lines are:

"There's a place on Ocean Avenue
Where I used to sit and talk with you
We were both 16 and it felt so right
Sleepin all day
Stayin up all night
"

My question is, were you able to do that? Sleep all Day and stay up all night? I can't help but think that generation is destined for failure, due to lack of parenting.
Here's the actual song, not bad, just the screwed up lyrics.

There's a place on the corner of Cherry Street
We would walk on the beach in our bare feet
We were both 18 and it felt so right
Sleepin all day
Stayin up all night

If I could find you now
Things would get better
We could leave this town
And run forever
Let your waves crash down on me
And take me away

There's a piece of you that's here with me
It's everywhere I go
It's everything I see
When I sleep, I dream and it gets me by
I can make believe that you're here tonight

If I could find you now
Things would get better
We could leave this town
And run forever
I know somewhere, somehow we'll be together
Let your waves crash down on me and take me away

I remember the look in your eyes
When you told me that this was goodbye
You were beggin me not tonight
Not here
Not now

We're lookin up at the same night sky
Keep pretending the sun will not rise
We'll be together for one more night
Somewhere
Somehow

If I could find you now
Things would get better
We could leave this town
And run forever
I know somewhere, somehow we'll be together
Let your waves crash down on me
And take me away

Same here. My parents saw to it I wouldn't have girl issues till I got out of the military. My mom planned it that way, she didn't want me hamstrung with a baby as a kid, knowing they'd be raising it.
They kept my ass as busy as a water boy in Hell till the day I hit basic training.

LOL very smart mom.
Yeah, I'd have lost my virginity at 12, had she not seen right through a family friend, 20 years my senior. She was hot, I was in love heat.
