This is one of my favorite clips.  It adequately expresses my point.

Robinson is the drummer and this is a great song for showcasing his timing and power.  Ben Orr (RIP) is the blonde headed guy with the Vox "Teardrop" bass, singing the song and Elliot is the guy in the suit on the left of the screen playing the Les Paul.   The dork with the funny shaped Dean guitar and the big adam's apple is Ric Ocasek, who wrote 99% of The Cars songs.  He is also seriously under rated IMO.
