Title: Flood
Post by: Inked on May 19, 2011, 08:34:51 AM
My band.  We are breaking in a new drummer and a 2nd guitarist.  Not the best we've done, but it's not horrible.

I know we're a little rough right now, but that was the second practice with an extra guitar player and a new drummer.  It wasn't THAT bad was it?  :o

Since y'all loved those so much, here's another.  ;)

Well, we're a 3 piece again.  All is well.  Got a pretty important gig tonight.  Pays well and should lead to other great opportunities.

It went very well.  Great crowd.  Happy bar owner.  Nice pay.  Plus, it turns out there was a couple people from another band there watching us and we got picked up for a big Bikefest in 2 weeks.  We play 1 set opening for a pretty well known local classic rock band.  Doesn't pay ( except tips) but it is serious exposure.

That's great.  Wish you much luck. (https://conservativepoliticalforum.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fsmileys.on-my-web.com%2Frepository%2FMusic%2Fbattery-017.gif&hash=1e0c8a3bc698060aff644ce761bed6697fa1b5cd)

The Bikefest last week went well.  Even though the soundman kinda screwed us.  We got a few gigs out of it since there were other club owners in the audience though.

We're playing a big 4th of July party this afternoon.  I am also meeting up with a friend from a music forum for the first time.  I don't know if any of you old timers know who Dan Peek is, but his brother is coming to my gig today.

Happy Independence Day everyone.

Yeah, it's kind of ironic.  The outdoor 4th of July party got washed out.  So 2 weeks in a row we got wet and delayed or canceled, proving to me that God approves of the name I chose for this band. Nevertheless, we did get to play for about an hour yesterday.  We used our sound system which is mostly low budget stuff.  Powered mixer, cheap PA speakers and monitors etc.  I controlled the sound from the stage with the help of my daughter's boyfriend.  And we sounded great.  The mix was awesome.  We all could hear everyone else and the audience could hear us all.  It would have been an awesome show if it wasn't interrupted by typical Missouri summer monsoons, which was followed by hours of loading and unloading in the rain and cleaning and drying all our gear.
