Anyone else seen this movie?
I thought I was in for basically "Flight of the Phoenix" except in a blizzard or tundra but this was a very different and very good movie.

I saw it.  Loved it!

I hated Flight of the Phoenix. It was another example of Hollywood's anti 2nd Amendment fixation making them stupid. Putting people in situations, roughnecks in bandit territory, without weapons when you'd have to be brain dead not to have one.

I haven't seen The Grey, but I saw a Lance Henrickson film where he leads a team to find his daughter's plane-crash in Alaska, I think.   Then they're stalked by a sasquatch-type creature.  I think I fell-asleep about halfway through.

If anything doesn't that make the case for the 2nd amendment?

I can't remember much of the first one, only that it had more interesting characters and I think they were in Northern Africa instead of Mongolia.

You are correct. I didn't even watch the remake; they're never as good as the originals. I thought the original Flight of the Phoenix was good.  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0059183/

Both of them, because they suffered from the same failing, people disarmed in a situation where they never would be.
