You can tell the authors oppinion of the gay community, and you can tell he expected to be agreed with.  The best part of the whole article are the comments on the bottom.
http://social.entertainment.msn.com/movies/blogs/post--boycott-of-enders-game-launched
QuoteA boycott of the movie "Ender's Game" is being organized due to anti-gay marriage remarks made by the author of the book the film is based on.

A group called Geeks Out has launched a protest against the film online, according to The Wrap, because of comments made about gay marriage and homosexuality by science fiction author Orson Scott Card, whose classic 1985 novel is the basis for the film.

A message at the site asks fans to "not buy a ticket at the theater, do not purchase the DVD, do not watch it on-demand. Ignore all merchandise and toys. By pledging to skip 'Ender's Game,' we can send a clear and serious message to Card and those that do business with his brand of anti-gay activism -- whatever he's selling, we're not buying."

Please go look at the comments, remind yourself you are not only reading MSN, but the entertainment section of MSN, because the comments could easily be from somewhere conservative.

Am I following this correctly, the author doesn't want people to see the movie?
Sounds like a play with reverse psychology applied to marketing

The author of the MSN article does not, the author of the book does.  The funny thing is that most people who read the article said they would see it anyway (or because of) the book authors stance on marriage.

I love it when liberal boycotts backfire.

Wow!

I only read the first page of comments, and there wasn't one that was in favor of the boycott. Although, I'm not looking for MSM to cop a clue.

This is a Chik-Fil-A of the sci-fi world, in the making. The louder the critics scream, the more people will line up outside the door. Cluck-Cluck. Ka-ching.
