These two Feature Films are strange but alluring at same time ,especially "Panzer 88" ( in 1944 a German King Tiger Tank crew in retreat across vast Russian Hinterland  passes through ruins of a Jewish Village and become prey of a  powerfull supernatural Golem type creature. I was looking on line at some of the information on Panzer 88, when it occurred to me - who are we supposed to root for? Who's the "hero". The "Good guys"? The Naziz or the supernatural horror? Or is this just another typical Hollywood production where the bad guys are the "good guys"?

I was thinking along the same lines, which is why I decided against watching it.

Let me guess, another Cameron production?
Probably not, but it would be right up his alley to portray the Nazi as the victim.

Who was the "good guy" in Scarface, the Sopranos, or Pulp Fiction?

No, it's being made by Gary Kurtz who was involved in Star Wars, Peter Briggs who wrote Hellboy, and Peter Jackson's Weta Workshop.

From the description it sounds more along the lines of The Beast about a Soviet tank crew in Afghanistan mixed with Hellboy.

As for the Nazis. Not every Nazi was a "bad guy". Take Larry Thorne, for example. He was a Finn who fought in the Winter War against the Soviets, joined the Waffen-SS and served during the Continuation War against the Soviets, and finally joined the US Army and served with Special Forces in Viet Nam.  He died there, his remains weren't found until 1999, and was finally buried at Arlington in 2003.

So is there a hero in the movie, or do we just hate them all?

I doubt this is the type of movie with a "hero" or black/white morality. More along the lines of Pulp Fiction, Scarface, and The Sopranos with a villain as the protagonist.

Then again, I won't be able to make an accurate judgement of the movie until I see it or read the script.

Might be entertaining, but sounds really weird though.

There was no "Good Guy" in Scarface or the Sopranos. It's all about seeing the bad guy get his comeuppance.
As for Pulp Fiction, Bruce Willis is a good guy. And there were bad guys (Vincent, Jules Marsellus) and then there are worse guys (Zed, Ringo and Yolanda). Maybe it's just me, but I was sort of hoping that they all went down in a hail of police bullets. Maybe that's why movies like that leave a bad taste. I don't want to "empathize" with truly evil people.

You lost me about the time you said; "joined the Waffen SS". He could have fought the Russians as a Finn. Finland did fight against the Soviet Union. But joining a truly evil organization was a choice. He was buried in Arlington for his service as a American, which raise the question of how he ever entered the country in the first place.

If the supernatural horror is the Golem, who was supposed to protect Jews during times of persecution, then I'll root for it.

Finland itself allied with Nazi Germany when it came apparent that the Western allies were too busy rushing to suck Stalin's cock. Furthermore, the battalion he served with was staffed with Finnish officers and NCOs not Germans and neither the battalion nor its members were ever accused of or tried for war crimes. The Finns did what they did to survive as an independent country. Turns out that allying with Nazi Germany was the right thing to do since the Western allies ended up betraying their central and eastern European allies at Yalta. Finland remained independent while Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, and others were left under Stalin's boot along with God knows how many Eastern European refugees the US and Britain handed over to the Soviets to be summarily shot or sent to the Gulags.

Thorne relocated to Venezuela after the war, took a job on a Swedish cargo vessel, jumped overboard and swam to shore when the ship was close to Mobile, Alabama. He traveled to New York and was granted residence under the Lodge Act that guaranteed U.S. citizenship to non-resident aliens after 5 years of service.

See my point above about Waffen SS. IT was VOLUNTARY. It was a NAZI organization. If he wanted to fight for Finland, he could have done so in the Finnish Army. And why do you believe he didn't commit war crimes? What other reason might not he have been simply admitted to the US. And then again, why did he leave his native Finland?
