For any of you familiar with the cases of David Paulides (the scariest I've ever heard), he launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund a new documentary, and is getting close.  The more people aware of these cases, the better I think, so I encourage anyone to contribute if they can.

Let me know when it's out on DVD, I definitely want to see this.
I've heard about his work and some of his strange, very strange findings.

What people go missing?  Campers and back packers?

People that do that should maybe consider taking a GPS device, just in case.

The danger to America is not Barack Obama but the citizens capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency.

We have people go missing all the time here in the wilderness, but 99% of the time they are either found alive, or know what happened to them, but it's that tiny 1% that creates an unexplainble mystery.

I remember one case 40 years ago or more, where a couple disappeared from camp.
They were with a large group celebrating something, the couple walked out int a clearing/pasture a few hundred feet as everyone watched and sat around the campfire BS'ing, and suddenly they were gone.
No tracks beyond where they were last seen.

Search and rescue came in with a helicopter immediately because of a threat of severe weather approaching, but nothing.
The other campers said it was as if they were plucked out of thin air.
I hope to see that one on the video, I always wondered if they found any evidence later.

Like many of these unexplained, there is almost always an explanation, and in this case?
I always suspected the entire party staged the whole thing, that these two never even made it to the wilderness and are probably buried in someones backyard, deep, real deep.

Hey, everyone loves a good mystery, right? I know I do. :sneaky:

The facts of these cases will blow your mind and freak you out.  When you hear the summaries, you think the normal stuff, like animal attacks, etc., but he excludes those and doesn't take those cases with those possibilities.  Sometimes I listen to some podcasts while I'm going to sleep, and when I hear one of his interviews, I seriously get scared like a little kid with a monster under my closet.  Let me know if you want me to find a few interviews and I'll post.  There is an indisputable supernatural phenomenon taking place here.

Years ago we were camping up in Sequoia, on the edge of a meadow.  I had just gotten a new Nikon camera and was taking a lot of nature pictures trying it out.  My seven yr old went on a walk with me.  He tripped over a branch or a rock and put his hands out to break his fall.  The grassy are we were in was maybe two feet tall, if that.  He completely disappeared. I was thrashing through the grass and saw the bottom of his shoe, barely showing above the ground.  I grabbed it, along with his ankle and pulled him up out of some kind of hole or soft area.  He was covered head to toe with very wet sandy soil.  If I hadn't been right behind him, or he had gone in further (head first) he may not have been found in time, if at all.  We never recovered the other shoe.  I shook so bad walking him back to camp, I didn't know if either one of us were going to make it.  He wasn't hurt.

OMG! :scared:
That would scare the crap out of anyone, literally turning into sheer panic.
Glad all worked out. God the nightmares you must have had ....

When I was running cattle in the high Sierra, the same land much of Bonanza was filmed on, we had a huge pasture of tall grass like you described, about a half mile across both ways.
I took the three wheeler across it to get a bunch of cattle struggling on the edge in mud, as I sped across the middle of the pasture, it was like riding on a massive water bed with a leak about 3" of water on it's surface.

When I got back I asked the owner about the area, he explained it was still a lake, that vegetation had overgrown the entire lake, and that his ancestors that settled the land told of losing an entire wagon and team of mules in it.
The Eure's had homesteaded the land in the early 1800s.
He said that on many occasions the family would find wagon tracks leading in, but that's it, just tracks and they'd send out word that a possible settling party may have been lost.

You really were one lucky mom on that day, by the grace of God, no doubt.....
