U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle is sent to Iraq with only one mission: to protect his brothers-in-arms. His pinpoint accuracy saves countless lives on the battlefield and, as stories of his courageous exploits spread, he earns the nickname "Legend." However, his reputation is also growing behind enemy lines, putting a price on his head and making him a prime target of insurgents. He is also facing a different kind of battle on the home front: striving to be a good husband and father from halfway around the world.

Despite the danger, as well as the toll on his family at home, Chris serves through four harrowing tours of duty in Iraq, personifying the spirit of the SEAL creed to "leave no one behind." But upon returning to his wife, Taya Renae Kyle (Sienna Miller), and kids, Chris finds that it is the war he can't leave behind.

God, I love Eastwood!

That is one thing that I've never understood! Why do people, such as actors, who get paid millions of dollars for what is usually about 1 or 2 months actual work, need to get awards?!

Why do studios which make mufti-millions of dollars for a movie that cost them about 1/10th of what they eventually earn to make need "awards"?

The box office receipts should be the only "award" they need!

When they already have more than enough money than one could ever need the awards are more attractive than any monetary payment as it gives you attention and "love". Also same reason why liberal Directors and actors make leftist movies that flops, as they are only produced to push the communist narrative. They don't care that it doesn't sell good, they care more about the goodwill they get from fellow commies for producing it in the first place.

I went to see it Saturday night.  It was really good.  It had some Black Hawk Down-esq action, but the punch line of the move is what I think he (Kyle) was trying to get through with his book, which is essentially war is hell, and to highlight how much it affects soldiers and their families when they are gone, and when they come back.  It was pretty intense.  The last scene they show footage of people all along the interstate and overpasses during the funeral convoy, and that is when my human programming started to almost discharge some salty substance from my eyes.  I need to get that checked out.

One thing I didn't know is that he was intentionally killed.  This entire time I thought it was an accident, but I guess it wasn't.

Eastwood totally nailed it.  It is setting records apparently, so I love how we're showing we will spend money and go to movies if it's stuff we want to see, and not their typical rehashed crap.

Applause at the end of the credits too.

Hollyweird leftists are frothing that a common mass-murderer gets boffo box-office compared to whatever revisionism and racism Oprah et al., spoon up on our cinema screens. They simply cannot handle the idea of killing for military reasons, or the notion of honor among soldiers. Freddy Kreuger never dies, but patriots are not fit to mention in polite liberal society.

This is from the same Hollywood handing us every sort of mass-murdering butcher on earth...except for muslims. I haven't seen the film or read of the true story behind the movie, but I'd bet that his body count did include a high number of Mussies. (Safe bet, eh?)

Of course Hollywood would try to spin the blow-out success of this film. Can't celebrate the killing of someone who recently proved they DO take offense.

Hollywood hated on "The Passion Of The Christ" too.

From Wiki

It went on to earn $370,782,930 overall in the United States,[3] and remains the highest grossing R-rated film in United States history.[15]
The danger to America is not Barack Obama but the citizens capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency.
