Okay, what production genius thought it would be a good idea to remake "Annie" and cast it with a mostly black cast? (Of course, the villains will be white... )

Didn't they learn anything when they tried this with "Steel Magnolias"?

I smell a monumental flop!

The Wiz was pretty fun ...

Yeah, maybe they should try an all white version of Porgy and Bess...

As predicted, Black Annie had all of the rousing success at the box office (and in the eyes of critics) as did the black version of Steel Magnolias!

It is actually somewhat amusing to see the Hollywood Leftists (perhaps I'm being redundant) dance around the 800 lb gorilla in the middle of the room while trying to explain its failure.

The new-look Annie hints at a progressive take on a well-worn story, but smothers its likable cast under clichés, cloying cuteness, and a distasteful materialism.

That's not the problem folks. The problem is, Annie whose image has appeared in newspapers since 1924 was a little red headed WHITE girl! She is an icon and people relate to that!

Black people prefer most of the early (till the mid-60's) 'white' Hollywood portrayals-of-blacks over most of the 'white' portrayals since, IMO.

For some reason, whites began pandering.
