Trends We Pray Never Return

Here's a few, though it's not just about clothing styles, but any useless piece of shit that was hyped on unsuspecting Americans, like the Beetle Moptop haircut, or super bell bottom jeans.

But trends like the Beatnik with his bongos and extremely bad poetry, so bad, it makes Shakespeare want to return and kill them all.
Pet rock...Need I say more?
Twiggy? Just the haircut alone repulsed most men by it's prepubescent boy look.
Or the Beehive hairdoo, an evil marketing trick to sell more hairspray.
Mod clothes in general, with the wide belts, scarves where you wound up looking like a bad episode of the Modsquad.
Oh, Nehru jackets, anyone?

Being an old farm boy and older then dirt.   I was not into trends or fads, we did not have time or money for that.

Neither did I, but like everyone else, we were assaulted with this nonsense.
I mean come on, to dress like hippies actually cost money to reject established culture, just like punk rockers, thinking they were different, when in actuality they were being marketed to with color hair spray, metal face art, tattoos.

The more these idiots try and separate themselves from commercialism, the more they play into capitalism, the very thing they're rebelling against.
As we speak, kids are trying to revive the hippie movement, as if that somehow makes them different, copying failed historical sub culture.

Here's a current trend we could do without:

Low rider cars!
I saw a guy who had his suspension adjusted
to where his car rode one inch off the road.
I saw him stuck on a small bump
as he tried to pull into a gas station.
Here are the 10 RINOs who voted to impeach Trump on Jan. 13, 2021 - NEVER forget!
WY  Liz Cheney      SC 7  Tom Rice             WA 4  Dan Newhouse    IL 16  Adam Kinzinger    OH 16  Anthony Gonzalez
MI 6  Fred Upton    WA 3  Jaime Herrera Beutler    MI 3  Peter Meijer       NY 24  John Katko       CA 21  David Valadao

Also those monster oversize tires where you can see the undercarriage.
The danger to America is not Barack Obama but the citizens capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency.

Excellent choice! Decades back when this BS started in Sacto. with the hydraulics, I seriously thought about making something called a LRD, pronounced LARD, "Low Rider Destroyer".
Basically a cone shaped plug with a steel bar running through it, bent with a hook on each end, essentially looking like an "S", you place it in a manhole cover, and when the idiot drives over it, it hooks his frame and yanks the manhole cover up into his tranny and oil pan.

Yeah, growing up where this fad first broke out amongst Mexican gangs gave me an attitude and I wanted to destroy every one of them.

Polyester....

As I think back to the 70's I shudder at some of the clothes I wore then. Fortunately I found a store concentrating in "traditional" clothing in the early eighties and went back to that. Always wore a tie and I went back to the button down shirts, regimental stripe ties, etc; and stayed with that style until I retired.

Granted polyester today is nothing like the 1970s nonsense, though I'm with you, looking back, we dressed like clowns.

I am sure others see this as well as I do. Time is catching up with some of the "ladies" who chose to have tattoos 20-30 ago.
