Oh look, Another Privacy Policy Update
« on: May 27, 2018, 05:21:39 AM »
I swear, I get several a day, even from places I've never even heard of, but obviously, they had my email address.

Dear Customer,
We’ve updated the Steam Privacy Policy to be clearer about our use of customer
information.  The following are highlights of our changes:
  * We’ve incorporated concepts from the EU General Data Protection Regulation
(GDPR) including the EU and Swiss Privacy Shield frameworks.
  * We’ve added explanations for why Valve processes customer data and the types
of data that we process, as well as information about your data protection
rights.
For more information about our privacy practices, please review the new Privacy
Policy found on the Steam website.

The E.U.

They are foreign Liberals trying to ruin, I mean run multiple countries into the ground.

First Amendment isn't just Freedom Of Speech, it's Freedom Of Conscience.

Who made you the arbiter of morality? You are not Government but you sure are acting like one.

Actually, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) only effects companies that have an internet presence and are physically present within the EU.  It will effect Google, Facebook, Microsoft, and other American companies who have a physical presence in the EU, but it will not effect any company outside the EU.

After Congress' Facebook hearings last April, they began introducing new bills similar to EU's GDPR.  Such as S. 2640 the SAFE KIDS Act (a.k.a. "Safeguarding American Families from Exposure by Keeping Information and Data Secure Act") introduced by Sen. Daines from Montana.
