I said in the Jokes forum that God of the Bible is contradictory and God of the Bible being arbitrary, capricious, cruel and neglectful.  I believe this is so.  Let's start this off with this if you all do not mind.  I will try to stick with one point at a time.  If I don't and start rambling please forgive me.

Solar you said "Some people can't see the miracle of life around them and make the connection of God the creator.
They think it just happened."

In other words, something must come from something else.  It can't just have happened.  An effect must have a cause or a destination must have an origin.

This is basic common sense and it makes total sense.  I don't subscribe to the idea that something came from nothing.  This would make no sense.  I am on board with Solar on this.

But, what is God's origin though?  Where exactly does God come from?   All Christians I've spoken to believe or accept that idea that God is infinite.   He is eternal and has always been and always will be.  How is this so?  How does this even make sense?  How can God just have been?   If all must have an origin then so to must God.  How does one get an uncaused caused (for lack of better terms)?  This is one example of God and the concept of God that makes absolutely no sense.

Maybe I'm way off base on something or not understanding something properly.

I'm going to break this up into different topics.

God is infinite and timeless. His existence exceeds the ability of human beings to fully comprehend. Hence our beliefs are based on FAITH. One either has it or does not.

There's a reason you have these questions, why all of us ponder this. We were given the gift of life as a blank slate, we were thrown into consciousness naked, ignorant of everything.
This was the gift, we were no longer a part of the big picture, we had no memory of the Utopia we had just emerged from, because if we had, that would spoil the life that was about to unfold before us.
All the pain and fear would be replaced by happiness as we venture through life, every tiny accomplishment made, every failure overcome would add to the experience as we evolved throughout our journey.

Think about that, total immersion, nothing to fall back on, only our parents to guide and protect us. This is where Gods Law of Nature comes in, why for millennia man has developed a working society that protects the next generation, and why Marxism destroying everything man accomplished is the evil around us.
The left hates the idea of God which is why they need to destroy our faith in the idea, and in doing so, will make themselves rulers over man.

Which do you want? Freedom and the right to believe in what you want, or a govt dictating the laws of nature?

Easy!  I wish and desire to believe in what I want.  Not have some govt who are made up of ppl who are as flawed as I am telling me what is so or not.  And, therein lies the problem with those who believe they're doing things for the greater good.

I believe CS Lewis had somethings to say on that and he said "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. They may be more likely to go to Heaven yet at the same time likelier to make a Hell of earth. This very kindness stings with intolerable insult. To be "cured" against one's will and cured of states which we may not regard as disease is to be put on a level of those who have not yet reached the age of reason or those who never will; to be classed with infants, imbeciles, and domestic animals."

And, he wrote the narnia books too.

SPOT ON! CS was Right, what other people think is right for all, is always based on ignorance of life and the laws of Nature.

Think about this for a moment. We are all entities in a vast nothingness of existence, then an opportunity arises where you are given a choice to experience tactile life, something you don't have at the moment, be it love, hate, taste and smell, none of these exist where you are, but to experience it in full, you are stripped of all memory and tossed to the wolves, so to speak.
This place knows no evil, not really even love in the way we as humans can experience, so we came as a challenge to grow. But here's why I don't believe in a Heaven or Hell, because we are inherently without love or hate, so the concept does not exist, so when we die, we all share in the life we just left when we die.

Now, this collect of thought all share in what we did as life on the planet, good or bad, it's all exposed, that's right, even your personal thoughts are no longer personal, but it matters not, because this is Judgment time, a time when you, as an individual are judged by the collective, GOD if you will.
You may have come to earth thinking you were pure of heart, but being stripped of all previous knowledge of your prior existence, the real you comes out. This is part of the gift of life, the gamble you were willing to take as a individual entity.

Who knows, maybe how you act here, effects your future options as to what you get to do next time around? Maybe there really is a Hell and when you return, you are judged and if found unworthy, sent to a horrendous place next time.
Or if you remain good as you expected you would, you are given a better assignment next go around, (Heaven).

I don't believe in any particular religion, but I do believe they all share somethings in common, as in an after life, a good or bad place after you leave here.
I knew from my earliest moment, that what the church was teaching about God was wrong. The idea that God was a separate entity that man. OK, in a sense, that is true, but God is not separate from man and this was my disagreement with religion.
Was it that I still had a connection to where I had come from? I think so, I could name a dozen moments as a child where that connection still existed and the very reason I never swayed in my belief in God to this day.
Call it divine, miracles, or what have you, but I saw it with my own eyes.

This is why I as did our Founders, in the laws of God and Nature.

Granted, this my interpretation, but I have it validated daily, and see no reason to doubt the existence of God.

You know I do love your version of God.  In a weird way it would make the most sense. I wonder if there is a way to validate it myself.

Talk to him.

I know, that sounds simplistic. However, I can't speak for everyone, but I find it so easy to tap into, all you have to do is believe you're being heard, then listen and observe your environment for the answer, be it a chance meeting of a stranger with a unique message for you, or something else out of the ordinary, these are the little miracles most miss, or call luck, when in fact, you are connecting with your God.

We may be here, oblivious of our former existence, but that doesn't mean we can't phone home, so to speak.
