When I read this story a few things jumped out at me as there is background not in the story.
I do not frequent clubs now, but have seen the inside of many over the years. The patron shared with the server she was going to be there a while and desired to pay cash. It is not unusual to ask for a card if a significant tab is going to be run up. We do not know if this establishment has had "walkouts" and this is just a protection. My gut tells me this patron probably had an attitude and desired to make an issue out of the whole scenario. Then to top it off she plays the race card.
I am so tired of this race card crap.

One can only hope they have a lot of "walkouts" for now on. IF she had the cash then why did she not pay for the drinks. Where I come from you only run a tab if you have a CC, if not it's cash on the line. Or it can be charged to your Hotel bill, as they have your CC number from checking in.

Exactly. This is nothing but a sound business practice.
