Bill Cosby was charged Wednesday with felony assault over an encounter with a woman 12 years ago.

"We are here to announce today charges that have just been filed against William Henry Cosby. These charges stem from a sexual assault that took place on an evening in early 2004 at Mr. Cosby's home..." Montgomery County First Assistant District Attorney Kevin Steele said in a press conference. "Mr. Cosby is charged with aggravated indecent assault."

The shear volume of women accusing him of sexual assault make it difficult to believe he is a victim.  I think all of the women claim the same methodology of Cosby's behavior.

Plus, it is well known that Cosby loved to hang out at the Playboy mansion and take advantage of the "opportunities" there.

I believe in innocent until proven guilty!  But some folks' track record challenges credulity.

Bleh....I just saw Gloria Allred at a news conference.

She's such a media *****.  Can't stand her.

I question why all this is coming out now.

As Solar said...

What does that have to do with this?  The statute has not expired.

The law allows for 12 years to bring charges.

IMHO, most of these 52 women did not realize at the time of their assault that there were any other victims.  They felt that had no chance of being believed against a celebrity like Cosby.  Therefore they did not bring charges.. or even report it to authorities in some instances.  The deck was stacked against them.

It is only after it became known that it was a pattern of behavior for Cosby that the individual victims began to report their experiences.  They found courage in the willingness of other victims to speak up and make public claims.

Different States have different statute of limitation laws.  Therefore most of the victims were unable to press charges after a short period.  I guess PA is one of the few States that allow 12 years.

Dori, I am with you on Gloria Alred.  She is a dispicable opportunist!

It varies from State to State, Ca is 10 years, most states are less, some even higher, DNA discovery can extend many of these laws further out.
Since Cosby has residence in Ca, I assumed this is where the case was to be tried, but apparently not.

I think all crimes must be tried in the State where they were committed.  Cosby grew up in Philly and I think he still maintains a home there.  They said the crime was committed in his home.

52 women and not one of them ever spoke up and/or brought charges?

That alone sounds really bogus to me.

Yes, some of them did speak up but not most of them.  However, they did not know each other but told very similar stories about their sexual abuse.  That is beyond coincidence.

Cosby has admitted to sex with most of them but has claimed it was consensual.  He also admits to giving them drugs which incapacitated them to varying extents.  Why give drugs if the sex is consensual?  Doesn't make sense to me.

If the Judge allows Cosby's depositions in other cases to be allowed in this case, Cosby is in deep trouble.

Bill Cosby lives in Cheltenham Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.  The courthouse where he was taken today is in Norristown, the Montgomery County seat.

The Media is all over Bill Cosby, but NOT Bill Clinton ?

This is one of those very rare times I sense a whiff of White Privilege.

Nah, Cosby insulted a protected class when he told them to grow up, pull up their pants, get a job and quit making babies, and by God, quit killing each other....
Essentially he exposed the heart of liberalism/Progressivism/Marxism, and that's the ultimate slap in the face to the leftists, so they made an example out of him in the event anyone else decides insult the reservation.
