DETROIT — A robber camouflaged as a security guard hit the jackpot Friday outside Greektown Casino when he stole several bags of loot from an armored truck parked along the curb, making off with more than $500,000, according to Detroit police.

No one was hurt. No weapons were brandished, and no threats were made, police said.

Acquiring the proper guard's shirt (and even a badge) is fairly easy. There's a uniforms shop on Eight Mile dealing exclusively in that sort of apparel.

The problem is in getting the proper company-name-patch for the shoulders. My guess is this guy had the generic "Security Guard" patch (and badge) and people saw it as something else. On the other hand, Day-twah crooks aren't that bright and it may well be a former employee of the same guard company.
