Funny stuff!!!

My best friend had a dial telephone well into the mid 1990's.  He would say something like, "If a business doesn't have the auto-attendant default to a live operator, I won't give them my business."  He was literally TOO CHEAP to buy one.   The new answering machine really pissed him off, the microphone was the telephone, and you had to plug the telephone into the answer machine to "program it"... via touch tone key pad.

He still uses the AT&T 2500 desk phone I gave him.   ...and actually appreciated the "flash hook" button, it stopped dropping calls (call waiting).  ...and he useto work for me when I had a communications business, majoring on PBXes...  just too cheap to buy a phone before he wore out the one he had - but he worked on the latest digital telephones, IP phones, etc.

Also had a 1984 Toyota Celica ... recently sold it to some antique car club.  It still ran, but he couldn't find parts for it when something broke.   No credit cards, and no credit history - 100% cash.

My son run into that.     So I had him go out and buy some things and then go back the next week and pay it off for 6 months.  As he was looking at buying a house.  It work for him and he got the house.  It does not have to be big just as long as you buy it on time, and pay it off.  So some thing he need to put in the house when he got it, he would buy on time and pay it off the next week and put in his storage garage with Antique furniture he as been restoring for the last 15 years.
