I recently started going to a new doctor. After two visits and a bunch of lab tests, he said I was doing "fairly well for my age." (I just turned sixty-something.)
A little concerned about that comment, I couldn't resist asking him, "Do you think I'll live to be 80?"
He started asking questions...
"Do you smoke tobacco, or drink beer, wine or hard liquor?"
"Oh no," I replied. "I'm not doing drugs, either!"
"Do you eat ribeye steaks and big fat juicy hamburgers?"
"I said, "Very seldom... the doctor I had before said that all red meat is very unhealthy!"
"Do you spend a lot of time out in the sun, like playing golf, boating, sailing, hiking, or bicycling?"
"Absolutely not!" I said. "I know what too much sunlight can do to my skin."
"Do you drive fast cars? Do you have lots of sex?"
"No and no" I replied.
He looked at me and asked, "Well, why do you even give a shit?"

Theres a lot of truth in that, I lived a hard life, but I have absolutely no regrets.
Had I not done all of that and a million things more, I think I would be having a mid life crisis.

It also makes him a little calmer for me.  Although the stories he tells me does scare the shit out of me sometimes.   :) :)
