Title: Celebrating their 'homey,' George Armstrong Custer

The idea that a town would be so proud of someone who failed so utterly has been one of my lifelong sources of amusement. But in 1910, the State of Michigan perpetrated a statue commemorating Custer in his more-or-less-adopted home town of Monroe, Michigan. And now, purely by accident yesterday, I found a banner hanging over a prominent street entering town, and....

Only liberals would celebrate an egotistical power hungry racist with a statue in the center of town....

Wait, are we talking about Marx, Lenin, or obamamy here? :D

Factually, we are talking about a town so desperate for a VIP that they settled on an immigrant who just happened to live with an older sister until he married a local judge's only daughter, then got himself killed in as spectacular a military failure as any our Army had suffered on U.S. soil.

If Obama has his way,someday we will see all kinds of public celebrations,statues and plaques erected to B.O.He is trying hard to construct a legacy.

Well, on the surface the similarities between Obama and Custer are in fact fairly strong. Neither listened to their scouts, and both went into battle over-confident and over-extended.
