"President Theodore Roosevelt put the concepts of multiculturalism in perhaps the best context, although it was of course not known as such in 1907. He declared, "In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

True words of commonsense.
We all know the left is the enemy, always has been, and with that knowledge, they are not to blame for our failed state, rather the GOP for allowing it to happen.
They were the guardians at the gate, instead, they, for their personal gain, allowed the enemy to slip through.

Liberals would label this as racist and insensitive.

The quote or the photo?

Where's the black money rebuilding Detroit? Which black city leader stands for responsibility and not parasitism? Who OTHER THAN the rich Republicans is trying to save that toilet from the Democrats?

Both. The democrat playbook is if Black democrats failures are mentioned it is always racist.

Is it racist when you worked your entire life to buy and furnish a house, only to learn the city overcharging you for decades on water does not even have working water hydrants on many of its streets --- and then refuses to list the nonworking hydrants, once the media DOES inquire?

How many houses need to be vandalized, burned out, torn down and vacant fields left as memories before the city that cannot support itself realizes the damage they have done. Detroit has fire precincts relying on makeshift alarms because the real ones aren't repaired, and neither are the fire trucks and city-owned ambulances.

That's a lot of city services the remaining black taxpayers aren't getting. Is it racist to ask why these things did not get addressed since money for repairs WAS budgeted --- before it disappeared? Ooops. Kwame Kilpatrick went to prison over stuff like that. I must be a racist for connecting those two dots.

Multiculturalism in Detroit? Depends on who you read. The Metro Times crowd just loves 'em to pieces until the hummus gets recalled and the chickens come home to roost in some new federal court decision you have to read Debbie Schlussel to even learn about. Which arab trash got pinched for that or t'other.

Arab businesses moving in? Where's the surprise? Even Detroit is tame compared to Beirut or Benghazi. Welcome to the land of opportunity! Black business? Have another hair-extension.

Then watch blacks complain because arabs can get credit and black bodega owners cannot.  Oooh, it's racist to refuse to loan money to those unwilling to pay it back. That one became a mantra during the city bankruptcy hearings. Evil racists. Evil. Evil.

It is not racist, however, to overcharge every driver in Michigan for auto insurance due to the staggering number of car thefts in Metropolitan Detroit. Nah. We all take the hit on that one, because if we singled out blacks (who actually do these crimes) we are racist.

So when you have had enough of being carjacked or mugged or cheated by brazen crooks at City Hall, and you finally move out --- who's the racist then? To hear the left it was all the whites' fault for no longer wanting to live in fear, from dangers the same media downplayed for fear that (like Islamic tolerance) that same violence would be visited upon themselves.

Detroit has been under Democratic rule for more than fifty years and remains the shining example of what happens when we let thieves like these run loose.
