I remember in school when the brainwashed drones called teachers preached nonsense about the party switch and the crusades. There is a war against conservatism and Judeo-Christian thought in modern America

Ya I agree. They use the crusades as a cudgel against christianity and tey to pretend that all the white supremacist kkk members came over to the GOP at some magical moment. This war has been going for awhile and is now heating into a cold civil war.
When I was in school over 60 years ago my remembrance of the crusades is was an effort to spread Christianity. Only later did I learn how the Moores had spread their terror to southern Europe.
The 2nd crusade was a retaliatory strike against Muslim invaders from the 1st crusade

I think it was crowder where I heard how prior to Islam, christianity had 5 major centers: Rome, Constantinople, Antioch, Jerusalem, and Alexandria.
The muslims took 3 of those(Antioch Jerusalem and alexandria) right off the bat and then threatened constantinople. Then when they got to north africa they jumped to Sicily and threatened rome. The pope actually called for the crusades at the behest of Christian's under threat from muslim invaders.
Crowder is actually who encouraged me to read the Qu'ran. I've read it 7 times and its all bad

Most kids are assigned (1) History book per year in school and that is the problem. Instead of one curated, superficial, and idealogical book; they should have dozens. They would likely take a greater interest in it if that were the case.

Trust me in my days in school, it was the teacher that made history interesting along with a good history book. Most teacher back in my very young days had knowledge of history backwards and forwards. And your Mom and Dad along with your Grandparents could back up the history teacher.

I bet! I found this to be pretty insightful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1eaNLN7Tjf8 and have a lot of faith in new creators like Dan Carlin who are very good and have a genuine interest. I only wish he had more content.

Soooo True!!! My 6th grade teacher remembered the Civil War. my history teacher landed on Normandy and survived, the following year, I watched on TV as a man and his wife escaped the USSR under live fire while boarding a moving plane, that following Winter he became my teacher.
They all shared one thing in common, a love for America.

Here is a start. Gov DeSantis to require HS seniors pass a civics test. So simple, but so effective.

Each and every state should have this. As long as they are getting the truth!

Florida high school seniors Most people lack a basic understanding of the U.S. Constitution, the Declaration of Independence and other founding documents, as well as government structure.
Glad to see there's an interest in improving this in Florida
