Most of us have seen the wartime poster WE CAN DO IT! --- but before that was the original Rosie the River, on the cover of the May 29, 1943 edition of The Saturday Evening Post.



Mary Doyle Keefe, the model for Normal Rockwell's painting, died September 27. She was paid $10 in all for two photo modeling sessions Rockwell used for the painting.
