I remember a kid bringing that to school science class, the teacher said I'll show you a really cool experiment.
Took the uranium and placed it in a huge beaker full of dry ice and a bit of water, the particles escaping from the uranium would shoot out and leave a trail in the Co2 fog.
They didn't go much beyond 8 to 10 inches, then fall, but it was really cool to see evidence of something invisible to the naked eye.
And to think, I survived my childhood.

Oh, another science teacher had us make mercury out of mercuric oxide over a Bunson burner, (the hottest chick in school next to me caught her hair on fire), anyway, once we were done, we played with the mercury and lived.
Yes, the mercuric oxide gas is not healthy

. But, again, I lived through my childhood with few ill effects, outside of being a dick to libs..
