In the classic "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens here is something I've never understood.  The story presents Scrooge as a complete miserly, greedy, asshole and Bob Cratchet as an angelic, perfect man.   Tiny Tim needed an operation for him to live and Scrooge didn't want to pay for this.  The Cratchets were extremely poor even with his salary.  Here is what is never discussed.  Why did they have so many children in the first place?  Knowing how much Bob made why have so many children?

Keep in mind that birth control was non existent. And now I'm not sure what church they belonged to so I may be wrong here but I think back then Catholics considered it taboo to simply not have sex in order to not have children. Something about producing more catholic kids to spread Catholicism. Again, I'm not a catholic from the 1800s but that is the impression I had.

I see.  I understand.

I see.  I understand.
It was a story, a metaphor, a conglomeration of the evils people face and the redeeming of a soulless individual at the hands of God and his angles.
Try and not read too much into this stuff, take it in as the big picture of redemption for yourself and treat others like you want to be treated.
That was the big pic, the overall message.

I'll do that!  I never thought of it as you did.  The left present it as a need for welfare programs.

Stop taking everything that is normal and politicizing it to ruin it. Liberals do that.
With all these lawyers with cameras on the street i'm shocked we have so much crime in the world.

There is constitutional law and there is law and order. This challenge to law and order is always the start to loosing our constitutional rights.

Frauditors are a waste of life.

I don't follow what I did wrong.

Liberals take the most innocent of things and politicize them to ruin the experience. A Christmas Carol is a story of someone changing their ways. And, even with that, we just watch it strictly for entertainment and not as a after school special.

It sure would be a wonderful thing to have a supernatural intervention to give a person a second chance.

I COULD SURE USE ONE.

That said, The Christmas Carol is a wonderful story with real lessons - for those who have eyes and ears.
