Ok, so I turn on the on demand today, go to history channel start watching a show WWII from space...good show, until about three minutes in, the show says "according to one version of history" WTF? One version of history? Since when is there more than one? The truth is the truth, facts are facts. History is well history. Needless to say I shut it off at that. But it bugs me to no end, that anyone would accept a show about history, on a network about history, stating "according to one version of history" as if there's more than one, which is based upon FACTS.
One of every five Americans you meet has a mental illness of some sort. Many, many, of our veteran's suffer from mental illness like PTSD now also. Help if ya can. :) http://www.projectsemicolon.org/share-your-story.html
And no you won't find my "story" there. They don't allow science fiction. :)

520 days until Obama leaves office

We need a count-down clock.
The danger to America is not Barack Obama but the citizens capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency.

Consider that most modern U.S. historians are admitted liberals, and ask yourself: if I had Republican claims versus Democratic Party truths, which would I choose? That's who writes the history books. Partisans. They subtly airbrush history, shaping it with then-contemporary balderdash and tons of "academic research" supporting only one side of an issue. They don't LIKE alternate histories. It's their jobs to create the official story line. It isn't being done on a long-term basis for conservatives, who have to struggle just to get heard at all.

Obama needs an escape route.

It's worse than we think.

Obama inserts himself into official biographies of former Presidents

QuoteOn Feb. 22, 1924 Calvin Coolidge became the first president to make a public radio address to the American people. President Coolidge later helped create the Federal Radio Commission, which has now evolved to become the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). President Obama became the first president to hold virtual gatherings and town halls using Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, etc.

QuoteHerbert Hoover - President Herbert Hoover signed the bill founding the Department of Veterans Affairs July 21, 1930. President Obama is committed to making sure that the VA, the second-largest cabinet department, serves the needs of all veterans and provides a seamless transition from active duty to civilian life, and has directed his Administration to modernize the way health care is delivered and benefits are administered for our nation's veterans. First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden launched Joining Forces to mobilize all sectors of society to give our service members and their families the opportunities and support they have earned.

QuoteFranklin D. Roosevelt - On August 14, 1935, President Roosevelt signed the Social Security Act. Today the Obama Administration continues to protect seniors and ensure Social Security will be there for future generations.
QuoteHarry S. Truman - In a 1946 letter to the National Urban League, President Truman wrote that the government has "an obligation to see that the civil rights of every citizen are fully and equally protected." He ended racial segregation in civil service and the armed forces in 1948. Today the Obama Administration continues to strive toward upholding the civil rights of its citizens, repealing Don't Ask Don't Tell, allowing people of all sexual orientations to serve openly in our armed forces.
The danger to America is not Barack Obama but the citizens capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency.

History not just about facts, but also about interpetation of the facts. The every  historical fact could be interpreted from several opposite views.

I once had a teacher who told me history wasn't black and white, but grey.  I argued no, it was black and white, its our interpretation of history that's grey.

Facts never change, which is why I seldom read opinion pieces on history.
Give me the facts, period, I'll figure it out on my own.

Q PATRIOT!!!

All historical data is consolidated into books or texts "about" history.  It is impossible to record ALL of history.

Therefore all history books are compiled based upon certain criteria.  Like it or not, there is always an agenda to every history book.   They are written to highlight points in history which are geared to produce a certain opinion in the reader's mind.

We have all been exposed to history books in our education.  For centuries those books were written with the goal of developing patriotic citizens who could be proud of their heritage.  We were steered to the religious underpinning of our National history.  We knew that the earliest textbook in this country was the Bible.  Children were taught to read specifically for the purpose of being able to read the Bible.  Institutions of higher learning like Harvard were started as Christian schools intent on keeping the next generation engrained in biblical truth.

THAT is our historical heritage.

It was not deemed beneficial to chronicle too many unseemly events.  We were taught about slavery, the KKK and other immoral events but only in generalities.  The books did not dwell on these events.

With revisionist history today, textbooks are rewritten to spotlight our moral failings and downplay our moral successes as a Nation.  There is no longer an agenda to build patriotic citizens for tomorrow.  The intent now is make our next generation believe that we were one of the evilest nations to ever exist...... dominating other countries and imposing our selfish will upon the entire world.  They ignore the fact that we have saved millions of lives from evil dictators.... cured diseases in developing nations..... given humanitarian aide to countless peoples.

History can be easily manipulated by the authors of these books.  But facts are facts.  The real problem is when the books assess "motives" for actions..... and exclude information that does not support their agenda.

The intent today is to kill patriotism and national pride.
