Title: Why?
Post by: The mighty wu on July 27, 2011, 03:17:29 PM
Why do I have to continually log out and then log back in, in order to make 2 posts. After one post the board freezes on the second post. I must log out, then log back in to post again. Very frustrating.

Sometime the board is very slow.  There looking for a new place.

Cope your post then hit the back arrow when it goes back then just repost again.  Do not close out just hit the back arrow, if you close out yes you will need to log back in if your computer is set up to clean History.

You will also find it will hang on you and take a long time loading.
Solor and Taxed are working on the problem.

Thanks walks, I'll give it a try. As a note, my system only cleans history when I tell it to. I make sure to accept the cookies. And you're right, sometimes it takes a while for the page to load.

Now I will log out and then log back in. :))

I'm not sure whats happening in your case, I would try another browser and see if that clears it up.
This is the first I've heard of this kind of issue.

Let me know if that helps, if not we can try other options.

Hadn't considered another browser. But it is too late to try it this evening. I have to make a trip through the barn and insure sure all critters great and small are in there place and safe, then I must gather up the dogs, take a shower and it's off to bed. I had a 4:30 am start this day. I'm beat.

It has been doing it off and on now for 5 weeks +  that I know of.  Some days it will do it other days it will not.  This is the only board that I see it on.  I also see it hanging more and more each day before it will load up a page or going from one posts to a new one.

Yeah, I saw that hanging as well, but I have never logged out since the site was created, and if it ever does it to me, I'm screwed, I don't know my own password. :-[ :))

LOL  I don't log out unless I shut the net down and do banking.   Or I am on a walk-about.

Yeah, I see no reason to ever log out, I just shut down my pooter and fire it back up in the morning and I'm on.
Logging in and out is a pain.

My puter is set up to go to sleep when inactive for 15 minutes.

Wu, we're trying to give you a hint but you're not taking it!!! ;D

Check your log-in settings for the account, are they set to "permanent"?

I turned that off, I don't think I'm ever idle for that long. :))
There is nothing more frustrating than to be downloading a huge prog, only to come back later and find out it shut down 15 minutes after you walked away.

Yeah, I hate that, but before you post you can check it to return to the thread.
We need to reverse it's default.

Glad to hear it worked with the new browser, I like Firefox myself, IE sucks big time.
