Title: Mods Posting
Post by: SalemCat on November 09, 2015, 08:35:05 PM
OK, I'm new. Forgive me.

But I've frequented Forums where the Mods are ENCOURAGED to post Political Opinions.

Guess what happens to those Users foolish enough to disagree with a Mod ?

Is this one of those Forums ?

Mods do not delete peoples accounts.  But we do post political opinions.  But we do have 4 admins that can if your trolling or are a shill.  Just be set to back up what you post when ask.

Honestly, I've been places where MODS accuse you of being Drunk if you disagree with them.

So maybe I'm a bit gun-shy.

The places I've been also have no respect at all for those with religious convictions. In fact, discourage ANY religious talk.

So maybe my initial reaction that Mods should not post is erroneous. I'm pretty sure if I were one I would treat people with respect.

If a Mod disagrees with me on content, that would be fine.

That's all I ask.

Explain.

Before I get real involved here, I'm just testing the water.

I don't do personal insults, although I expect them from fellow users, and can handle them with grace.

I don't like personal insults from Mods. I expect maturity from Mods.

I do welcome criticism and divergent opinions from anyone. I am not a person fixed in any opinion. I have been wrong, and can admit it.

Maybe some of you have not been to the Forums I have, and cannot understand the abuse allowed and encouraged at some.

Good. I wish I had not experienced that and hope this Forum never goes there.

So far, so good.

I am favorably impressed.

We have a Religion Forum as you have found.  You can talk religion that all you like.   Political Discussion and Debate is not for religion but you will find something will spill over into it.  When it more about Religion then Politics it will be moved into the Religion Forum.

All mods on the board post now and then.  You will find this board is not like other boards.  It is a TEA board.

Just relax and post what you believe, but it might help if you familiarize yourself with the forum first, seeing how most of us are over 60 and follow the etiquette of our generation, not the PC bull shit of today, where everyone's "Feelings" are more important than the truth.

Most of us have been on those type boards you mentioned. I think you will find this is not a board for degradation and vulgarity. You will not see personal insults unless someone gets totally out of line. We do not tolerate trolls and if those tendencies are identified those folks will be dismissed.

BTW, welcome.
