Our regular members know this, but for the new ones, a point about links.
All qouted posts from other sites need to be linked.
By this, I mean to the original source, not a blog or another forum.

And while were on the topic of forums and blogs, we are in direct competition with them, so Do Not post links to either of these, they can do their own advertising.

As an example, if you find a story on Free Republic, look closely, the poster included a link, follow it until you find the original source.
If you can't find an point of origin, then you didn't search hard enough. (one exception Grumpy Old Cripple)

This is not necessarily policy, but rather Copy Right Law.
As to blogs, the same applies, find the original source, otherwise you're probably posting anothers opinion piece.
Be original, post your own opinion and let someone else link back to us.

We are no doubt one of the best forums on the web, only because of the combined expertise and experience of our members, of whom deserve all the credit.
Many people come here for facts and opinion, and rightly so, we are the go to forum for the truth.

I know this because of searches that have produced some of our posts on other forums.

I am not accusing anyone of lying.  I am saying if this is the "go to" place for truth, and maybe 20 members and 120 "guests" are on line, at most, at any one time, then out of a gazillion people on the web there don't seem to be many coming here for "truth."  Relatively speaking, that is.

I am a majority of one who regularly contributes to this forum. If the bosses here ever bothered to identify the daily number of individual posters here, they would also have to include folks who don't care much for political debate but are interested in other topic-boards offered here. We are not alone in this goldfish bowl, though the Poli Board crowd all seem to think so.

That said, do I post much off this particular CPF board? Not really. I'm just pointing out things aren't nearly so bleak as you paint things, Elmer.

Visitors (regular lurkers of just fly-bys) *ARE* very high. And mean old loudmouth me is repeatedly asking, when are they gonna step up and exercise their right to be heard? Yeah, I beat these lurkers mercilessly about that one. If I'm only one of say 20 content providers (as you say), I think it's fair to ask others to share that burden. Aside from the other mean loudmouth bullies who also ask for lurkers to stop lurking and start posting.

There are more divisions to the political pie than formal names like Libertarian, Independent and the like, yet both these and others would fall under the conservative mantle. Establishment GOP folks would be hard-pressed to find any fans here, true. But they can definitely agree we are even less kind to liberals, and to the Democratic Party they support.

It's the differences and nuances within the conservative penumbra which should rightly draw others out of lurking, if only to present and debate their views.

Now tell me I'm wrong. Just be ready to debate it!

Lurkers, it is time to break your chains of silence, and be heard.

Sorry if that sounds like I'm trying to bully you or anything. Really!

I think many of them are students getting easy research for papers.
With that said, I challenge them to ask questions, questions that will challenge the politics of your teacher.
You might enjoy it.

Well, at least I waited almost exactly a month before I again spammed the joint with my sad refrain. I don't have access to the awesome and unlimited powers bestowed upon you as owner. It's your guess better than mine WHERE they're from, but without their signing in, We Shall Never Know as to their WHY.

If you're right and they're students, then no matter how we break it to them, any facts of real life we lay upon them will be seen as vicious unprincipled lies. That ties in with whatever their professors told them, which I believe was also your point.

Ah, academia. As a survivor of that cloistered surreal mind-set, I assure you, learning what is REALLY what can be a frightful shock to some of our sheltered college kids. Golly wow, will they resist our benevolence and guidance!

Its not a large number and I venture to guess around 20%, based on the amount of lurkers that drop during vacation.
We have Easter break coming up, so it might confirm my suspicions.
But case in point, I happened to notice this link:

If he is representative of the college kids, God help us.

You mean they're not Chinese spammers?

And here I was hoping one of them could "make me very special price" on a knockoff Rolex.   :sneaky:

But the teacher won't enjoy it any more than you enjoy challenges to your politics.  And unlike you, their teacher gives them a grade that sticks with them the rest of their lives.  Extremists, by definition, whether libtard or conservatard, are intolerant and generally uncivil to those with whom they disagree.  This board offers plenty of evidence to support that contention.

Challenge my politics?
Better bring an army libtard, as you call yourself, you're going to need a lot of help.

How ironic, spell check says libtard should be spelled as billiard, which is rather appropriate when you consider how I smack you all over the table every game, my little Cue ball.

Yeah, right! In your dreams, that is!

You have yet to actually challenge me, so your point is a moot one.
