mod for this forum? I don't see any way to change to that formatting option!

Probably your best bet is to use the "Preview" button before posting. That should give you a WYSIWYG of your post. I don't think there's a real-time WYSIWYG option available.

Note that with some browsers (Chrome and Iron for sure, maybe others) you may have to scroll up to see the WYSIWYG snapshot after you press the "Preview" button.
