For the first time in more than two decades, life expectancy for Americans declined last year — a troubling development linked to a panoply of worsening health problems in the United States.

If one reads between the lines there are some other factors that came to my mind. At age 65 the life expectancy did not change and most of the change cam from middle aged and younger. One wonders if all the illegals entering the country bring diseases and existing conditions with them. Just saying.

NEW YORK (AP) -- More than 50,000 Americans died from drug overdoses last year, the most ever.

The disastrous tally has been pushed to new heights by soaring abuse of heroin and prescription painkillers, a class of drugs known as opioids.

I blame the sedentary lifestyle.  Everything can be done at home now, entertainment, ordering on Amazon, socializing, etc.

I'd like to see the third worlders taken out of the equation. I have a feeling the disease ridden that sneak in, really effects the numbers.

You are absolutely on target. When we enforced immigration laws many people were not accepted who were already ill. Now, we have such an inflow of unhealthy young folks that it has to impact the numbers.
