On our bike run,,, my sil and I ride bikes now on the "T" days of the week,well cept for yesterday,,,had to move a T to a W day,lol... anyway, on the back leg we came up thru the little woods and there they were,,,puffballs! Have mercy, never in town have I seen them.    Found 3 good ones and we put em in my hood. Then I finished up my pears and did some sweet jalapeno jelly (good stuff not even hot) and my bil calls and lets just say now I have a dining table full of puffballs. some ther size of 16" soft balls some the size of basket balls,lmao. Waiting on my sil to come and we are going to get em ready for the freezer. She had no clue what they were,,,
sliced some up last night lightly egg battered em--no yolks,,, fried em up in olive oil, salt n peppered them and then finely shredded fresh parm on the top. Good stuff I say,,,,,
