Ok. This is my original recipe. If you like Tacos, you will love... I mean LOVE these tacos!

5 lb ground chuck, browned and drained.

Add
1 large bell pepper, chopped
1 large onion, chopped
Cook with browned chuck 5 additional minutes.

Add
4 packets of McCormick Original Taco Seasoning Mix (McCormick is best)
1/8th tsp of mustard
1 TBLSP of sugar
1 (6 oz) can of tomato paste
3 1/2 cups of water
salt and pepper to taste.

Mix all above until blended and simmer on low for 20 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

*Note*

I freeze half of this taco recipe. It freezes well for later.

Also, this coming weekend, I will make this recipe. Afterward, I will know exactly how much salt and pepper I add. If you need an exact amount, pm me after this coming weekend and I will give you the exact amount of s & p.

This is a fun, finger lickin meal. And yes, I really did make it up.

Hope you will try it bc you will enjoy it.  ;)

I love tacos. I'm going to try this tomorrow night. Kay, you're a real peach.  :-*

And you definitely are too, MM.  :-*

Let me know how you all like these tacos, please!

If you do not have a large Onion, sub two mediums. I have done that and it was still delicious.

From the test kitchen of the Mouse family: two big thumbs up for the tacos. Tomato paste and I do not get along, so I used a tomato. I also cheated a bit and added a yellow and red bell pepper for color, it is really good.

Now I'm off to search for a weapon to defeat the tomato paste........ :))

Oh my... Without the tomato paste, that was probably too much water.

Any way, I hope your family will enjoy your version of Tacos. Woot!  ;D

This sounds good Kay.  You are right about the taco mix.  McCormick is the best.  Years a go on a camp out with a friend and our girls she taught me how to make quick chicken taco's

Boil 3-4 chicken breast.  When fully cooked drain and using two forks shred the breast meat.  Mix the chicken meat with 1-2 cans of Rotella (tomato and diced green chile mix).  Simmer till it thickens.  Use corn tortillas and  quick fry them in an oiled pan.  Then build your own taco with your favorite toppings.  I layer a strip of sour cream, meat mixture on top, lettuce and shredded cheese.  Quick easy and very yummy.  My girls still love these. 8)

Rotel is one of the best things around to spice things up. :)

LOL, I've stocked up on Rotel. ST, the chicken tacos were great, simply great.  :)

I'd love to share some of my recipes, but my problem is I don't measure.  ??? My daughter says never fear, though, she'll help me write some out so I can share.

MM I find that good cooks don't measure.  Just get out of there way.  ;D ;D ;D

I only measure when I try a new recipe. At this point, I make notes of how to perfect it so that next time around, I make it to my liking. That is when I venture off to no measuring.

Oh, on the simpler foods, I do not measure either such as beef tips and gravy which I love on baked potatoes. There is no way I can give a recipe for that.

Good gravy is an art, there is no one recipe.  As you are not working with the same dripping all the time.

I bet it was. Thyme does add a great flavor.

I made beef tips today... I threw in onions, bell pepper, garlic, worcestershire sauce, a little mutton pepper juice, a tad of tobasco, Kitchen Bouquet, half a packet of onion soup mix, salt and pepper and tad of sugar.
